District Overview
Kiewit's Northern California District is one of Kiewit's leading
infrastructure districts specializing in various types of work in
the heavy civil, power, transportation, and water resource markets.
Although most of our work is regionally based in Northern
California, we also pursue various projects across the west coast.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about
infrastructure and committed to the construction industry rather
than design.
Location
This position will be based out of Kiewit's Northern California
District Office in Santa Clara, CA
Responsibilities
--- Manage and direct project teams by providing communication,
coordination, and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives;
ensure project scope or work, schedule and budget are clearly
defined and understood.
--- Establish project procedures consistent with contractual
documents and quality plans for all engineering work; determine and
oversee all project controls, schedules, and budgets.
--- Serve as project representative with client, constructor,
subcontractors, and vendors at kick-off meetings, job walks,
project review, and other meetings and correspondence.
--- Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project
procedures are followed.
--- Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in
project scope, budget and/or schedule.
--- Maintain ongoing communication with client, adjusting as
necessary to comply with client needs within contractual
obligations, or adjust project deliverables to meet client and
Kiewit needs.
--- Ensure all work products are consistent with industry standards
and in accordance with good engineering practice and applicable
codes, and in compliance with all pertinent legal codes and
requirements.
--- Provide ongoing training and mentoring to entry and midlevel
engineers to promote employee development.
--- Utilize extensive knowledge of basic engineering fundamentals
and practices to track and budget progress with project
milestones.
Qualifications
--- Professional Engineer License (desirable)
--- Bachelor's degree in engineering in any discipline from a
four-year college or university
--- At least 10+ years' related experience and/or training,
specifically in the energy industry
--- At least 10+ years' experience with direct project oversight on
Project controls, engineering and construction related
projects.
--- Competent in the use of computer software applications used for
project control and scheduling
--- Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact
professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously
manage a diversified workload and challenging situations
efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk
and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30
pounds.
--- Travel in the U.S. and internationally (50-75%).
--- Regular, reliable attendance

supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team
environment
--- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral
and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use,
and other policies.

work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as
required.

Base Compensation: $105,975 - $143,963
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as
education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
