At STVP, the Stanford Engineering Entrepreneurship Center (stvp.stanford.edu), we empower aspiring entrepreneurs to become global citizens who create and scale responsible innovations.

As humanity grapples with dilemmas of extraordinary complexity and global scale, the Stanford Engineering Entrepreneurship Center, housed in the Department of Management Science & Engineering, is leading a movement to educate leaders who will solve the major challenges of the 21st century.

We deliver transformational experiences that equip aspiring entrepreneurs - from all backgrounds, disciplines, and areas of the world - with the ability to solve problems by harnessing engineering principles, ethical decision-making, and emerging technologies.

We are looking for a Director of Strategic Communications to drive our communications strategy for content, brand awareness, program engagement, fundraising and revenue development. This person will help shape, lead, and coordinate the production of vibrant content, evocative brand voice and distinct positioning of the center and our products. This role will work especially closely and collaboratively with the center's Marketing Manager and Executive Director. The person in this role will need to effectively engage and manage faculty, staff, students, volunteers, and vendors to deliver content and products with accessible language, storytelling, and captivating moments.

---A clear and diplomatic communicator who can proactively collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups

---A talented writer and editor able to create content as needed

---Motivated to roll up their sleeves and operationalize ideas

Your responsibilities include:

---Develop and manage the communication and brand strategy for individual program(s) incorporating appropriate channels (i.e., web presence, digital and print).

---Manage market research and campaign/program/service/event analysis used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting.

---Assess market opportunities and track market trends. Recommend marketing improvements based on findings.

---Responsibility for staff including the recruitment, management, development, and retention.

---Manage program budget, goals, and objectives in alignment with organizational goals.

---Recommend, manage and execute integrated marketing plans/programs and strategies to meet business objectives.

---Guide event planning and execution as needed to support marketing objectives.

---Manage vendors on specific projects.

Education & Experience (Required):

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

---Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing.

---Experience with digital, web, print, social media marketing.

---Ability to lead cross-functional teams toward a common goal.

---Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

---Experience with market research and data analysis.

---Understands how to implement effective marketing programs across multiple channels.

---Creative problem solver with strong critical thinking skills.

---Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.

---Prior experience in planning and managing program budgets.

---Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.

PAY RANGE:

The expected pay range for this position is $107,000 to $139,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
