With a single app and wearable technology like our Enso device, we're helping to reduce pain, surgeries, and opioid use.Work From AnywhereHinge Health employees have the flexibility to work remotely in hubs across the United States.About the RoleAs Director of Engineering, Core App, you will lead six full stack product teams (about 40 engineers) rapidly evolving Hinge Health's core product capabilities. Partnering with peers in product and design, you will maintain both an ambitious strategic roadmap, and a healthy Agile culture of iterative, cross-functional delivery to execute on it. This year, your teams will re-architect 1st generation platforms to eliminate both scaling and functionality bottlenecks. Your thoughtful coaching and goal-setting will support a strong bench of engineering managers-both as individuals and as a loosely-coupled, highly-aligned team of teams.In addition, you will be the Head of Platform Engineering, responsible for setting standards of performance, availability, and operational excellence for back end services across all teams (even outside your reporting line). In this role, you will partner with the Head of Application Engineering, the Head of AI/ML, and a team of Principal Engineers to accelerate development on a high-velocity, low-dependency Innersource-friendly technical landscape. #LI-JJ1DESCRIPTION OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

    • You will guide the evolution of Hinge Health's modular, loosely-coupled, and easily extensible core tech.
    • You will align Core App teams behind your clear, measurable North Star vision
    • You will bake well-documented patterns and best practices into CI/CD automation to keep Hinge Health services uniformly, fast, highly-available, and deeply observable
    • You will establish and maintain a Platform Engineering function that efficiently absorbs cross-cutting upgrades, and maintains a high-velocity "golden path" to production
    • You will provide focus and commercial impact with a 12-18 month strategic roadmap that blends incremental improvements, extended capabilities, and big bets on radical innovations.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
