milestone they face.About the Role:We are looking for a Chief of
Staff to serve as a right hand (& extension) to our CEO. Key
activities of the Chief of Staff will be to oversee the execution
of strategic initiatives, accelerate the growth and efficiency of
the business, and create processes and opportunities to help the
organization succeed. This is an extremely high-impact role that
requires a detail-oriented, data-driven, and overly strategic
mindset, with a work ethic equipped to tackle demanding, highly
cross-functional tasks. The Chief of Staff will be working directly
with our Founder & CEO on a daily basis - while the new hire will
face a steep learning curve at the onset of their tenure with Silk
+ Sonder, they will quickly gather the tools & business context
necessary to exert meaningful impact across all areas of the
business. The ideal Chief of Staff candidate will have proven
experience at a senior level in a management consulting, business
development, operations, or strategy role, and is looking to
acquire first-hand experience on how a high-growth startup is
run.Further, as one of our first full-time hires, you will be
instrumental in paving the way for company culture, which means
being open and honest about your working style and
needs.Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to CEO and other
leaders for efficient and impactful decision-making across all key
areas of the business
- Propose, prioritize, and oversee strategic business initiatives
from development through successful execution under guidance of CEO
and leadership
- Strategize and develop materials for all investor-related
touchpoints
- Serve as trusted liaison between CEO, leaders, agency partners,
and consultants regarding project updates, planning, proposals, and
employee engagement
- Build and develop relationships with all employees and
consulting partners to increase efficiency and effective
responsiveness into existing operations
- Oversee daily operations to ensure that projects are executed
efficiently and stakeholders are held accountable to deliver
meaningful results on time -
- Data / Analytics
- Analyze data to inform hypothesis-driven initiatives to
accelerate member acquisition, retention, and revenue
- Refine and leverage key analytical tools (e.g., Looker, LTV
analysis, churn modeling, customer pathways) to inform
profit-maximizing business decisions
- Manage P&L, budgets, and financial reporting
- Business Development
- Prepare and manage go-to-market initiatives for new product
lines and new markets
- Ideate on, identify, assess, and ultimately propose new market
opportunities for the business -Requirements:
- 3-5+ years in Business Leadership or Management / Strategy
Consulting Role (bonus points if you've worked at a startup as
well)
- Bachelor's Degree
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and verbal and
written communication skills -
- Proven experience organizing and directing multiple projects
and teams and able to hold team members accountable to project
deadlines and unblock barriers for project success
- Experience planning and leading initiatives from concept
through execution -
- Deep experience with data analysis and fluency with
quantitative tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
- Interest in building entrepreneurial skill set and learning
about high growth startups
- Strong collaboration skills, ownership mentality, and fast
decision-maker
- Self-motivated, resourceful, curious, and ambitious - ability
to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle
multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities, and relationships
- Able to see the forest through the trees, and approach new
opportunities and challenges with a long-term, ROI-driven
perspective
