You will be responsible for driving the day-to-day detail design progress while syncing with system engineering and adjacent teams. You will call upon your own extensive design experience to lead new designs and make your mark. Design trades across COTS hardware, space qualified devices, and in-house builds should come easy to you as there will be plenty.The ideal candidate for this role will have experience building structures either for LEO satellites or for multiple GEO satellites. This position is based in our Los Gatos, CA office.Why you're the right candidate

• You have at least 3 years' experience as an Engineering Manager in Aerospace Structures / Mechanisms or Systems Engineering, with a mechanical background
• You have technical design experience and have Satellite or Aerospace Structures knowledge
• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field
• You have actively participated in the building or launch of spacecraft
• You have deep knowledge of every satellite subsystem including structures, radiation impacts, solar panel and power systems and GN&C, including being able to actively manage trades from each subsystem group
• You have experience preparing and managing high-level technical specifications across multiple disciplines
• You have proven success ensuring technical leadership and excellence is maintained through mentorship, as well as leading successful hiring and retention initiatives
• You have extensive experience with satellite system and missions
• You have a deep understanding of the principles of spacecraft design, manufacture, assembly, integration, test and operationAdditional experience we'd like to see
  • Candidates with Satellite or Aerospace Structures knowledge will be viewed favorably, as will those with Deployment Systems experience
  • Candidates who have a strong background in the above areas who have acted in a Technical Lead role will also be consideredWe are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used-so we're looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-orbit activities. If that's your experience - then we'll be immediately wow-ed.The estimated base salary range for this role is $100,000-220,000 per year. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, depth of relevant experience, and other relevant factors.
