• HealthPosition OverviewThe Director of Individual Giving for the XPRIZE Foundation is a new and exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraiser, hunter, and closer to be an integral part of a robust Individual Giving program to support ongoing operations for the Foundation. The successful candidate will be a metrics-driven major gift fundraiser, proven in achieving growth goals, stewarding existing donors, uncovering, and closing high-level prospects.Reporting to the Vice President of Individual Giving, the Director of Individual Giving will develop and maintain a portfolio of high-level prospects.Responsibilities
  • Leads prospect activity for his/her portfolio as well as stewarding an existing pipeline of current donors to ensure donor retention and renewals as they grow our donor giving circles.
  • Works with departmental leadership to develop and implement an annual giving program built for all levels of the giving pyramid.
  • Works closely with the Vice President of Development, XPRIZE Executive Leadership, Donor Giving Circles, and Board of Directors and Trustees, deploying them as necessary to cultivate and solicit gifts, as well as steward current donors.
  • Ensures positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations and stewardship.
  • Works with existing major gift donors to get referrals to grow our Giving Circles.
  • Moves potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation, gift closure, and stewardship.
  • Assists in the implementation of our benefits-driven individual giving program and a variety of donor-focused events and giving campaigns with the Vice President of Individual Giving.Requirements
    • 7-10 years of successful, progressive experience in individual fundraising.
    • Demonstrated success in managing a fundraising quote and closing multiple five to seven-figure gifts.
    • Having a strong network of high-net-worth connections to target as XPRIZE donors.
    • Broad and deep knowledge of fundraising principles.
    • Working knowledge of Annual Fund and benefits-driven giving opportunities.
    • Experience and comfort in building a portfolio through discovery visits and calls.
    • Expertise in cultivation and solicitation for all levels of giving.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills.
    • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
    • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as well as occasional travel.Preferred Qualifications
      • Background in technology-focused organizations.
      • Success in using crowdfunding and other non-traditional fundraising techniques.
      • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
      • Successful background in creating and implementing an individual giving program, including direct marketing for annual giving; discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies across the giving spectrum; mechanisms for tracking, sustaining, and growing relationships with donors; and processes for developing a major gift portfolio.The anticipated base salary for this position is $120k to $140k and may also qualify for an annual incentive. - This role is eligible for our extensive benefits package and generous paid time off including vacation, sick, and holidays. -The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience for the role, level of education attained, and certifications and/or other licenses held. - XPRIZE is a remote-first environment. -The XPRIZE FOUNDATION is an equal opportunity employer and does not unlawfully discriminate in employment.
