St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco operates the
Multi-Service Center - Northern California's largest homeless
shelter, Navigation Centers for chronically homeless individuals
and couples and the Riley Center - Domestic Violence shelter and
services for survivors. We have over 125 employees working in 4

cycles of homelessness and domestic violence. SUMMARY: The Riley
Center Residential Program Manager for Saint Vincent De Paul
Society of San Francisco (SVDP-SF) is responsible for the full
range of programs and services provided to survivors of domestic
violence and their children enrolled in our residential programs.
This position provides direct supervision to the entire case
management team in the emergency shelter and transitional housing
program. This is a key leadership position primarily responsible
for ensuring the residential program maintains high occupancy (90%
or higher), serving as many DV survivors as possible, and adhering
to policies/procedures regarding safety, security, confidentiality,
and ethical standards of program as directed by SVDP-SF leadership.
This is a Full-time, Exempt position. BENEFIT OVERVIEW Kaiser HMO
paid in full for employee. Voluntary dental, life, and vision
insurance. 403b retirement plan with employer paid match after 1
year of employment. Ten vacation and ten sick days accrued per
year. Two personal floating holidays and twelve and a half holidays
offered per year. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ultimately responsible for the overall success of Riley Center
residential program, ensuring that client care and service is
always a forefront priority, along with program enrollments, and
residential occupancy rates, sustaining as close to 100% as
possible.
- Lead by example, motivate, and supervise all case management,
direct service staff and the Assistant Residential Program Manager
ensuring that all staff provides the best care and experience to
all residential program clients.
- Work closely with Program Director and Director of Program
Operations to maintain high occupancy rates, at both emergency
shelter and transitional housing program.
- Oversee delivery of all program services including workshops,
support groups, case management, individual client consultations
with partner service providers, as well as ensure client events,
and other shelter client related activities are of top quality,
ensuring that client engagement and participation is
maximized.
- Must create and update shift schedules for all program staff in
close coordination with the Program Assistant and share shift
schedules with Program Director and Director of Program
Operations.
- Lead all case management staff, specialists, and consultants to
ensure client participation in supportive services and programs is
maximized, as well as ensure that positive engagement atmosphere is
maintained in all phases of residential programs.
- Ensure shelter is kept clean and organized.
- Work with Program Director and residential staff to ensure
program enrollments numbers are at capacity, ensuring occupancy of
both residential programs is as close to 100% as much as
possible.
- Effectively introduce program policies and procedures as
presented by Program Director and SVDP - SF Executive Leadership;
ensuring that all residential program staff abide by said policies
and procedures.
- Submit program reports on a timely basis (monthly, quarterly,
and yearly) to Program Director and funders.
- Utilize Salesforce to maintain all program/client data, and
ensure all staff are using Salesforce effectively and
regularly.
- Must keep track of program budget, keeping program expenses in
line with budgetary constraints and allowances.
- Must work closely with Program Director and Director of Program
Operations in managing expenses, allocating resources, modifying,
completing program reports, and submitting budget modifications as
needed.
- Maintain accurate knowledge of program finances at all times,
and make informed programmatic decisions based on financial
information.
- Supervise residential program volunteers, ensuring volunteer
hours are maximized.
- Participate in outreach and community engagement efforts for
the organization as needed or requested by the Program
Director.
- Provide support with direct client services as needed on site,
and in other program departments.
- Responsible for oversight and compiling statistical reporting
including but not limited to client records, crisis line,
individual case files, and daily log and service statistics (all
through Salesforce).
- Work closely with the Program Assistant regarding operational
needs of the program/building.
- Create and articipate in rotation of back-up emergency cell
phone on a 24/7 basis.
- Upon hiring, complete the next available domestic violence
training offered by Riley Center, and participate in appropriate
on-going continuing education and development trainings.
- Participate in regular staff meetings: Case Management,
Management Advisory Committee, Community Time and In-Service
Meetings, Residential Program House Meetings and other meetings as
needed, or requested.
- Provide back up support for facility upkeep and
maintenance.
- Participate in on-going cross training to perform duties in
other departments of the agency as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in business management, psychology, or related field.
Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Two - three years (minimum) supervision and management
experience. Demonstrated success leading diverse teams and staff to
achieve common goals.
- Excellent program management skills including contract
management, budgeting, establishing procedures and ensuring a
positive client experience.
- Must be able to think critically, analyze, and use
problem-solving to resolve issues and respond to difficult
situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, as
well as effectively lead and manage projects and programs.
- Must possess strong organizational, administrative, and
excellent time management skills. Must be detail oriented, but
bottom line focused.
- Must have the ability to meet all reporting deadlines and
prioritize work to meet client needs and program deliverables
timely.
- Excellent ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Must have proficient skill levels at using MS Office suite
including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Efficient at data entry and data management. Good experience
using web-based databases for client tracking and reporting
strongly preferred. Experience in using Salesforce preferred.
- Strong report writing, budgeting and presentation skills
required.
- Experience in non-profit sector desired, preferably in DV
services
- Strong leadership and supervision skills. Must have
demonstrated ability to energize, motivate, and influence staff,
clients, and external partners alike. Must be able to build and
sustain strong team dynamics.
- Must have demonstrated leadership skill to be able to encourage
clients and staff members during difficult and challenging
situations.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Must be
able to communicate effectively with staff, clients, SVDP-SF senior
management, and external partners.
- Three years of experience with domestic violence issues and
dynamics (personal, educational &/or professional) and
experience in managing clients with individual differences such as
race, class, gender, and sexual identity.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with volunteers,
clients, and staff.
- Knowledge, experience, and comfort working with a diverse
community, including LGBTQQ, youth, immigrant, low income
communities, and communities of color.
- Flexibility and ability to move seamlessly between being a team
player and working independently.
