Position Overview:We are growing and we are looking for a Senior Director of Business Development to play a significant role in formulating and executing our growth initiatives, sales strategy development and overall business process.The Senior Director Of Business Development is responsible for proactively canvasing the healthcare, retail and optical landscape to identify viable commercial opportunities in support of the multiyear larger company growth plan. You will be responsible for directing and leading all business development and sales-related activities. The role requires strategic planning and consultative selling while interfacing with senior decision-makers. At a high level, this role will generate and secure short and long-term profitable business through proactive business development and account management based on a fundamental understanding of the customers business, operations and objectives. This key position is focused on the creation and delivery of customer-specific account plans, maintaining current business, and developing new business opportunities. You will report to and receive functional direction from the VP, of Growth Marketing as well as have direct communication with the CEO/FounderA strong predictor for success will be evident in an individual with a proven track record of high accountability for new business development and annual business targets (Revenue, Margin, and OpEx). This candidate has developed a sales strategy, methodology, and tools to capture large-scale projects and long-term contract agreements. The ideal candidate has held positions that required establishing continued contacts with new prospects, coordinating contacts between staff and proposed clients, and serving as the principal client contact when necessary. What youll be doing at Zenni:

  • Leads the development of operational efficiencies for this new unit in partnership with other key business leaders across the company
  • Has an established track record in a sales organization to not only lead a growing sales team but also be responsible for their own book of business to achieve growth targets for the business unit
  • Works with assigned Project Manager, the technical squad, and cross-functional business partners to ensure client relationship is strong, that work is being prioritized in the appropriate work streams, and status updates communicated both to the client and also leadership within the company
  • Develops and maintains forecasting and tracking against OpEx, Revenue targets, and margin targets in partnership with Finance for the B2B department.
  • Analyzes competitive data and assists with due diligence on prospective new business opportunities to vet. Makes recommendations to VP, of Growth & Marketing along with other key Executive Leadership.
  • Develops a pipeline of suitable acquisition targets and identifies and supports cross-selling opportunities and cross-marketing opportunities
  • Develops content for dynamic presentations in connection with pitches and other new business opportunities.
  • Coordinates response teams and drafts and coordinates content for RFPs.
  • Works closely with finance and contracts/legal personnel to develop and present proposals
  • Evaluates and analyze new business opportunities and alliance benefits. Negotiates & maintains contracts.
  • Refines sales lead ( tracking and lead scoring process to ensure appropriate efforts are spent based on LOE and ROI
  • Hires, develops, trains, and supports sales personnel
  • Assists in the development of sales incentive programs and standards for performance
  • Develops and implements sales practices, methodology, tools and tactics. Develops tools to measure and improve sales performance. Analyzes business impact of strategies and tools employed
  • Conducts Lost bid analysis to understand how to recommend we adjust strategies going forward
  • Holds wide latitude and autonomy to develop and execute requirements to meet objectives.
  • Establishes strategic account plans alongside Account Managers for all targeted accounts with tactical information necessary to ensure sales targets are met
  • Builds customer relationships through direct contact, meetings, customer events, industry events, and professional relationships
  • Meets with customers on a frequent basis and builds a sufficient pipeline of opportunities to reach sales targets
  • Maintains a customer interaction log (CRM) to ensure optimal follow-up and follow-through on all active pursuits
  • Plans and presents reports on account progress, financial goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members and stakeholders
  • Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Helps shape the strategic development of collateral that supports B2B marketing and sales efforts
  • Promotes company vision and wanted the position to customers and the marketplace in generalRequirementsRequirements
    • Must have minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development or sales area
    • Preferred (not required) to have optical or healthcare industry knowledge
    • Must be familiar with B2B and multichannel strategies.
    • To function successfully in the position, the candidate must be a strong leader and have demonstrated team-building and problem-solving skills in a professional service environment.
    • An ability to evaluate data against both judgmental and verifiable criteria is required.
    • Ability to research issues (contractual, technological, operational, and financial) to make recommendations in an expeditious manner
    • Deep understanding of the buying cycles of customers
    • Understanding of complex bidding
    • Must have excellent analytical skills to understand market dynamics, determine appropriate strategies, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
    • Must be able to work with people at all levels of management within both internal and external customer arenas
    • Proven negotiation skills
