Job Description:

CoStar Group is hiring a Senior Manager of Analytics in our San Francisco office to drive improvements in customer growth and engagement by analyzing, mesuring, and recommending solutions through data. This exciting opportunity will propel the growth of CoStar Group's business for sale brands including BizBuySell.com, BizQuest.com, and FindaFranchise.com.In this role you will manage existing data resources, implement new technologies and tooling to further enable the analytics function, and develop and deploy scalable data sharing practices. You will bring significant experience in analytics, product KPIs, goal setting, experimentation, and reporting, and split your time between hands on development and managerial activities. You will own data environments and oversee the development of new processes that support teams across the business for sale marketplace. You will collaborate with other product, engineering, and data leaders to improve the business by leveraging data modeling, testing platforms and data visualization.We are counting on you to bring a genuine curiosity about how entrepreneurs navigate through the business ownership lifecycle, and pair that with a strong technical aptitude and ability to analyze large datasets, uncover trends and insights, then turn those findings into actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proven data infrastructure design and implementation capabilities, strong business acumen, and an innate drive to deliver results. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and will enjoy working in a dynamic environment.

  • 4 days onsite / 1 day remoteResponsibilities:
    • Develop analytical solutions that help achieve business objectives, and identify and report on the KPI's that will determine success.
    • Perform proactive exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, insights and develop strategies.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally across internal teams (marketing, product, technology, sales, etc.) to evaluate opportunities that deliver business goals via data analysis, predictive models, and machine learning.
    • Share results and conclusions you draw to derive meaning from the data, and what business actions you think should be taken as a result of the analysis.
    • Improve upon data collection and upkeep of our datasets. Own the architecture and integrity of our data tracking and reporting systems.
    • Create and maintain shareable standardized reporting using data visualization tools for the KPIs needed by the business.
    • Design and analyze A/B and Multivariate tests.
    • Coordinate across departments and with our analytics providers to establish best practices and adhere to common design patterns, and work through your plans with others to troubleshoot potential issues upfront.
    • Manage a team of 2-3 analysts, coach, and mentor them to achieve their full potential.

      Skills and Qualifications:
      • Bachelor or Master's Degree required in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Data Science, or related field
      • 7+ years of relevant work experience including 3+ years managing analytics and data science teams.
      • Exceptional data analysis skills and the ability to identify actionable insights from large datasets
      • Advanced Excel and modelling skills
      • Deep experience with distilling complex analyses into clear findings for relevant stakeholders and providing applicable business insights and recommendations.
      • Proficient in SQL, writing queries, and reporting from relational databases. Experience with SQL Server Management Studio.
      • Advanced understanding with web analytics and tag management (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, FullStory, Google Tag Manager, and more)
      • Experience with data warehousing systems like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery
      • Strong scripting and programming skills with Python, R, etc. with hands-on experience, preferably in Microsoft related technologies.
      • Good, applied statistics skills, such as distribution analysis, probability theory, statistical testing, regression, etc.
      • Expertise in running exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling and data mining.
      • Experience with designing and analyzing experiments (A/B tests and Multivariate tests).
      • Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI and Tableau.
      • Impeccable attention to details and never compromising attitude for data accuracy.
