Job Description:
The candidate will support our Client's Emergency Services team,
working cross-functionally, supporting the client's Emergency
Management efforts. This individual must have expertise in
emergency management, planning, training and activations in case of
emergency. The candidate must have a knowledge of corporate
security and public safety best practices. The Emergency Management
Lead will provide strong support to the emergency services team by
assisting in the enhancement of response capability, supporting the
professional functions to ensure the effective execution of
planning initiatives, exercises, training, data tracking and
related deliverables in alignment with Emergency Management
principles.
- Prepares, processes, or supervises the processing of pertinent
planning documents such as Emergency Operations Plans (EOP),
Emergency Action Plans (EAP), hazard specific Response Action Plans
(RAP), Incident Action Plans (IAP), Event Action Plans, Operational
Plans, After Action Reports (AAR), Corrective Action Plans (CAP),
and any other Emergency Management planning documents
- Ensures the alignment of the client's Emergency Management
plans with external partners.
- Prepares, processes, or supervises the processing of SOPs,
contracts, permits, petitions, bid specifications, and requests for
proposal.
- Oversight of the administrative and business management
functions of Emergency Services, including the development and
tracking of policies and procedures, creation of documents,
analysis of specifications, and purchasing of emergency equipment
and resources.
- Conducts independent research and studies, identifies problems,
and effectively recommends action.
- Supports testing and evaluation of emergency management plans
and equipment in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Supports development of operational plans, develops and
facilitates tabletop and functional exercises and records
measurable outcomes and corrective action plans
- Identifies operational efficiencies while documenting content,
and helps implement fixes locally and across North America
- Creates sustainable communication themes in conjunction with
systematic routines, processes and preparedness activities for the
client to execute consistently
- Keeps informed of activities or changes that could affect the
likelihood of an emergency, as well as those that could affect
response efforts and details of plan implementation
- Manages program from incubation to implementation and
execution
- Manage emergency response for local offices, as well as offices
across North America.
- Oversees and guides, in a program management capacity, the
global exercise team of emergency management specialists
Requirements:
- 7+ years' experience in a related field (emergency management,
crisis management)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (emergency management,
crisis management)
- A willingness to work nights at leas 2-3 times a week.
- Experience working in or with public safety agencies
- FEMA/CEM Certification
- Analytical mindset and an ability to understand and learn the
organizational infrastructure and internal needs and help define
and drive processes
- Understanding of local and regional nuances within a global
organisation and able to adapt global policies to be locally
relevant
- A background of combined safety and security experience,
including corporate security and safety
- Experience with emergency building evacuation
- Ability to be candid, transparent, dynamic and trustworthy
- Ability to develop and execute presentations
- Understanding of ICS, FEMA, HS, OES standards and protocols
