RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of this role is to design and launch the
Institute of Integral Wellness, including expansion of student
wellness services and creation of staff wellness services strategy
and faculty-driven research programs.Direct the Wellness Center at
CIIS. Provides general oversight of all Wellness Center operations
including long-term vision of CIIS' evolving Wellness
Center.Advance wellness-related research and scholarship at
CIIS.Work collaboratively with Student Affairs and university
partners.Responsible for the overall vision and administration of
wellness services at CIIS.Supervise the student affairs manager and
wellness coach coordinator.Meet with the Dean of Students to expand
ongoing wellness initiatives aligned with student needs.Design the
overall workplace wellness program initiative and work with the HR
team for successful development and implementation of
programs.Establish structures for collaboration and integration of
faculty-facilitated wellness initiatives.Work with faculty wellness
services committee, human subjects review board, and administration
to develop a proposal for the establishment of a research center
for faculty research projects focused on health and well-being at
CIIS and in the community.Articulate guiding principles and promote
programming which establish CIIS as a thought leader in the
field.Collaborate with faculty in programs that actively inform and
engage with the wellness center, especially Integrative Health
Studies (IHL), Community Mental Health (CMH), Clinical Psychology,
and Somatic Psychology.Meet semi-regularly with the external
administrator of our online student wellness platform
(Neolith).Conduct annual data-driven health and wellness
assessments across students, staff and faculty and develop reports
and strategic plans based on these assessments.Meet with the
Admissions department to collaborate on increasing recruitment of
students who are interested in health and wellbeing research and
initiatives.Oversee the training programs for alum, including
ensuring compliance with the NBHWC's CEU requirements for the
Integrative Health Studies program alum.Meet with the Faculty
Wellness Services Committee on a monthly basis.Expand wellness
initiatives that support the Bay Area community.Propose budget
needs to the Dean of Students.Report to the Dean of Students. Job
Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in health and wellness related field preferred, but Master's
level applicants will be considered. Ideal candidate would possess
a degree in Integrative Health, Health Psychology, Organizational
Psychology, or similar. Familiarity with the National Board for
Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) standards and requirements
preferred. Prior workplace wellness and supervisory experience
required. Knowledge of research administration, methodology, and
implementation preferred.
Knowledge of current ethical, legal, and training issues relevant
to health and wellness coaching and program delivery.Capacity to
thrive in a student-centered environment and respond to student
challenges, concerns, and disclosures with sensitivity and
diplomacy.Demonstrated skills in the application of wellness,
behavior change, and organization change theories.Proven capability
of developing workplace wellness programming.Experience in program
development and evaluation.Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.Experience in effective outreach, programming
development and assessment.Demonstrated ability to work well within
a multicultural, diverse community, including expertise working
with multi-cultural populations (a spectrum of race, gender,
ability, class, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, and
age).Ability to establish professional relationships, interact
effectively with diverse constituencies and a willingness to
collaborate and maintain confidentiality when required.Ability to
work well both individually and as a part of a team in a collegial,
respectful, and professional manner. Additional

Occasional work performed alone with ability to work remotely from
time-to-time. Collaboration and constant work around and with other
people.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
This position requires attention to detail, good memory, ability to
work under deadline pressure, sitting and standing for long periods
of time, oral and written communication, keyboarding for
significant portions of the workday, pushing, pulling, bending,
stooping, reaching, patience, and tact to perform the essential
functions.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Wages are commensurate with skills and experience and may include a

Working Conditions -- Duties are primarily performed in an office
environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday
through Friday.
