Quality Engineering Manager (Remote)

Job Description:

As a Quality Engineering Manager, you'll lead a newly formed quality and automation team. You will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Product, and Support teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality product releases. This role requires proficiency and experience in manual testing, automation frameworks, execution of quality strategies across engineering teams, and tracking metrics. The team is new, so this is a chance to create something from the ground up. You are a coach, a mentor, attuned to people career aspirations, a leader who creates positive climate in the workspace with focus on empathy.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience managing QA engineering teams
  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
  • Knowledge of one modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C) and open-source technologies
  • Worked with, and/or built, geographically distributed teams and external vendor relationships
  • Experience creating automated tests frameworks
  • Experience with Cypress testing framework is a must
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience in delivering software projects using Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Experience mentoring junior software and or quality engineers

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
    • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
    • Experience influencing software engineers' best practices within your team
    • Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
