job.****A Brief Overview**This position provides on-site
supervision and support for ambulatory clinic day-to-day
operations. Plans, organizes, manages and coordinates clinic
services and staff to achieve continuous and optimal patient care
within a clinic that may span across multiple sites or consist of
multiple specialties.**Locations**Stanford Health Care**What you
will do**+ Attract, Develop and Retain Talenta. Communicate and
model the values of SHC through orientation, development,
mentoring, performance counseling and evaluation of staff. Plan and
implement SHC strategies to promote effective recruitment,
retention and development of diverse work teams.b. Responsible for
supervision of an assigned professional team that includes multiple
clinical and clerical staff.c. Directly responsible for all
assigned personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring,
performance, appraisals, promotions, documenting disciplinary
actions, responding to grievances, vacations schedules, and
maintaining payroll records and time reports consistent with state
and federal labor laws and collective bargaining agreement.d.
Orient and train new support staff. Monitor staff training and
provide hands-on instruction consistent with SHC job role standard
work.e. Conduct regular check-ins with assigned staff to assure
they are actively engaged and growing professionally.+ Operationsa.
Facilitate the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and
efficient patient careb. Ensure the staff have adequate supplies
and forms and department is appropriately stocked.c. Track and
facilitate maintenance of service contracts on department specific
equipment.d. Collaborate with manager to oversee operational flow
and ensure patients are being taken care of in an efficient,
compassionate and courteous manner.e. Oversee master scheduling to
develop efficient schedule templates for clinicians.f. With
Manager, facilitate timely communication through regularly
scheduled staff meetings and daily huddles.+ Create Alignment and
Accountabilitya. In collaboration with manager, assume twenty four
(24) hour responsibility and accountability for the operation of
the assigned department(s), service(s), staff, and facilities.b.
Maintain interface with physicians, patients and administrative
staff to provide information and to resolve problems relating to
clinic services and communicate to manager.c. Develops strong
working relationships with key partners to coordinate services and
treatment activities of the department with other departments to
ensure effective patient care and efficient service.d. Work
collaboratively with the Manager to plan and provide a weekly staff
schedule and revise as needed. Work collaboratively with the
manager to approve leave and vacation time for staff, while being
mindful of schedules,operational needs and collective bargaining
timelines.e. Exercise sound judgement when resolving or escalating
issues.f. Delegate work appropriately to maximize productivity and
efficiency. Establish and maintain operational standards and
targets to ensure accountability and equitable distribution of work
among staff.+ Drive Cross-Functional Partnershipsa. Partner with
department leadership to deliver the best possible patient care
experience.b. Actively participate on committees to achieve desired
outcomes and ensure follow-up on action plans to support and
actualize the goals of the department, division, service, and
organization (operating processes, policies and procedures,
utilization of space, increase revenue, supply utilization,
personnel, etc).c. Work collaboratively with department leadership
in administrating policies and procedures regarding patient flow
and utilization of space, time, supplies, and equipment.d. Assist
in developing policies and procedures to facilitiate the efficient
delivery of patient care and the appropriate utilization of clinic
resources.e. Collaborate with Authorizations and Billing Department
liasons to understand and resolve billing issues.+ Facilitate
Process Improvementa. Communicate in a clear and effective manner,
including active listening, to enhance team effectiveness.b.
Actively improve clinic operations by identifying problems and
critically assessing existing business processes to optimize
performance, meet best practice standards and/or improve quality
and the user experience for patients and end-users.c. Utilize PDCA
(Plan, Do, Check, Act) and Lean tools and methodologies.d. Actively
train and engage staff in department-based and organizational
process improvements efforts. Regularly elicit staff feedback as a
key method for continuous improvement efforts.+ Enforce Internal
controlsa. Works with Manager to ensure compliance with
accreditation and regulatory standards; quality assurance/quality
improvement; safety and risk management requirements as well as
actualization of SHC policies, goals and objectives. Regulatory
requirements include, but are not limited to: sensitivity to
cultural diversity, patient care, patients' rights and ethical
treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency
management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing
education and training based on assessment of staff needs,
communication and adherence to safety and quality programs,
sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and
licensure and health screenings.b. Enforce regulatory and
compliance requirements (HIPPA, JC, etc). Supports the quality
framework, which includes both clinical and service quality
indicators. Create an environment of patient care that is safe,
effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.c. In
collaboration with the Manager, make budgetary recommendations and
projections. Monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures of budgeted
funds. Identify cost savings opportunities within the operation.d.
Generate, analyze and/or interpret entity-specific reports relating
to department performance, staff performance, financial

in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or
