As we continue to grow and broaden our impact, we're building a diverse, driven and empathetic team, while working hard to cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive.The OpportunityThe Head of Analytics and Data Science will oversee a distributed team of 20+ data analysts and analytics engineers responsible for analytics tooling, definitions and governance. You will manage and grow a team of 9+ centralized analysts while creating a Center of Excellence for the Analytics and Data Science function at One Medical. You will work closely with leaders from across the org to define the future of Analytics at One Medical, crafting a thoughtful, long-term vision and strategy for the organization. Using your strong organizational savvy and business acumen, you will help improve business performance by evangelizing a culture of data. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating the vision and results of the Analytics and Data Science team, acting as an internal and external leader in the field.You'll own decisions about standardized analytics tooling and create processes for the review of analytics work to ensure it conforms to data definitions. You'll collaborate with data engineering to adjust how analysts work in the data stack, making future analytics work faster. What you'll likely work on:

  • Create and gain buy-in for a medium and long-term vision for the role of Analytics and Data Science within both the Senior Health and Commercial businesses.
  • Maintain awareness of distributed analytics work, working to resolve dependencies and encourage cross-prioritization between teams when necessary.
  • Lead regular forums for coordination across distributed analysts, data scientists and data engineers (currently ADS Managers Meeting, ADS Meeting and Data Council), aggregating and prioritizing requests for data engineering work.
  • Own decisions about standardized analytics tooling
  • Work with central and distributed analysts to define and document data definitions
  • Ensure data systems follow RBAC, and gate access to analytics systems to only those needed for distributed analyst work
  • Standardize expectations and career pathing for analysts (central and distributed).
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of the Company metrics dashboard, working closely with executive leadership to drive data-driven performance.What you'll need:
    • 15+ years overall experience within analytics, data science or similar function
    • 5+ years experience owning and leading the Central Analytics function in a public or near public company.
    • 5+ years of experience managing a team of at least 10 (directs and down level) members.
    • 3+ years of experience leading a dotted line, distributed analytics function.
    • 3+ years hands-on analytics or data science experience (i.e. technical background).
