the community. Responsibilities Job Summary / Purpose The System
Director, External Communications: Content Development has a
critical role in advancing the mission and success of the
organization by developing reputation-building content, campaigns
and programs that are aligned with the Brand and resonate with key
stakeholders (e.g., list primary stakeholders) across owned, earned
and paid channels. This role will develop external communications
and content strategies to build awareness of and drive the
reputation of the organization and its leadership. They will be
responsible for day-to-day oversight of an Executive Communications
storytelling platform that creates engagement and influence with
key external stakeholders as well as internal departments and
leaders throughout the organization. Essential Key Job
Responsibilities Builds stakeholder relationships and engagement
with media, influencers and key thought leaders Under the direction
of the System VP of Public Relations and Content Strategy, produce
content that conveys corporate key messages and enhances the
reputation of CommonSpirit Health and its leaders. Provides
day-to-day leadership of multimedia content development for the
external communications team and its storytelling platform,
including the creation of an editorial calendar, guidelines,
templates and other standards, as appropriate. Contributes to
broader editorial planning across the organization, including
writing, editing and producing content, such as articles, video
scripts, blogs/digital content, and social media, etc. Supervises
other External Communications content creators, including direct
reports and freelancers, such as writers, photographers, and
videographers. Uses knowledge and ongoing understanding of external
stakeholders, including news media, to develop and evolve
thought-leadership platforms and content for leadership that
resonate with key stakeholder audiences. Examples include speeches,
talking points, presentations, correspondence, op-eds, blog
content, social media posts/responses, and other materials
articulating the organization---s vision, news and advocacy
positions. Develops and implements distribution and engagement
strategies targeted to relevant stakeholder audiences, such as
media and other influencers. This includes content distribution and
sharing arrangements that increase the organization---s domain
Authority or other measures of influence and reputation and improve
the consistency of the organization---s key messages as used across
the system, search engines, 3rd party sites and as part of content
syndication programs. Collaborates across marketing, brand,
internal communications and with other key internal stakeholders to
develop and implement cross-functional content campaigns and
integrated communication strategies that drive engagement with the
organization. Creates and uses tools to measure and monitor the
effectiveness of external communications and content strategies and
produce reports on a regular basis to inform the External
Communications and Public Affairs team, and ongoing message
refinement and other communications activities. Qualifications
Required Education and Experience Bachelor---s degree in a
communications-related field, business or health administration.
Minimum of seven (7) years--- experience in the discipline
(hospital, health system or provider organization preferred)
Minimum of five (5) years--- leadership experience Required Minimum
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Exceptional storytelling and
writing skills. Ability to write clear, compelling prose in
different styles, voices, and tones to effectively communicate to
key audiences, including but not limited to news media, influencers
and other stakeholders. Must have a solid grasp of media, digital
and social media landscape and best practices for developing
results-driven campaigns. Experience developing multi-media content
and strategies for optimizing content distribution and reach and a
demonstrated record of positive results. Proven experience using
communications measurement tools to track and report results and
inform future content development. Previous direct experience in
reputation management and executive positioning or thought
leadership. A compensation range of $142,000 - $185,000 is the
reasonable estimate that CommonSpirit in good faith believes it
might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the
time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than
