The Merchandise Manager is responsible for managing and leading the Buying Team and Merchandising Assistants in delivering an on-trend product assortment and ensuring the buying team is achieving global sales and margin targets. In addition, the Merchandise Manager will be responsible for buying a high growth product category and can lead the buying team while also buying. This Position is Responsible For:Managing a team to exceed sales & profit plans for our Global business in addition to buying a high growth product categoryManage the financials of the business with VP of Merchandising: Sales, OTB, IMU, Markdowns, Returns, Inventory, and Receipt PlansWork closely with the VP of Merchandising to establish the product vision, strategy, and merchandising plan for the Global businessCollaborate with key stakeholders; influence and drive to consensus for all short and long range merchandising strategies and objectives for the business.Own the merchandising product calendar - directly responsible for managing team adherence to the critical deadlinesBring customer and market prospective to the buying process. Thoroughly understands the different regions' target customers by tracking attitude and lifestyle trends.Help lead seasonal kickoff strategies, hindsight processes, and ensure cross-functional alignment on the business needsResearch the competition, all social media platforms and markets to identify emerging trends, categories and promotional campaign opportunities.Drive growth by developing assortment strategies for the team with SKU count, breadth vs depth, newness, and pricing and marginsStrategically scout new vendors to support business needs & build strong relationships with the current supplier baseAnalyze, present and recap sales trends and results to leadership and cross-functional partners. Demonstrate on a daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, quarterly and yearly basis.Managing, coaching, and developing the buying team. Assist with attracting quality new talent and creating a positive team cultureDrive improvement in reports and processes to assist with the WBR, Hindsight, Line Review, Forecasting, & Strategy meetingsEstablish and lead routine Merchandising meetings with buying teams Education & Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree preferred6+ years of experience within the buying function2+ years of experience leading a teamKnowledge & Skill Requirements:High proficiency in Excel Strong communication skills and ability to present to various levels in the organization Ability to articulate detailed action plans to successfully accomplish goalsStrong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
