Oportun: The True Cost of a Loan: Based on research commissioned by Oportun and conducted by theFinancial Health Network (FHN), the total savings number equals the difference between the average cost of other widely available alternative lending products that customers may have used and the average cost of an Oportun loan of the same amount, multiplied by Oportun first-time borrowers. FHN analyzed the rates, fees, and terms for payday, pawn, auto-title, installment, and rent-to-own products for customers in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah and calculated the total cost of those products for common loan amounts. FHN considered the loan repayment structure and time frame for each product, borrower income, the potential for rollovers and refinancings, and legal parameters that prevent or constrain borrowing. Oportun updates the model quarterly to calculate the total amount that Oportun first-time borrowers have saved since 2006 in interest and fees compared to the alternative products. The actual savings for each customer will vary based on specific loan terms and alternative products available in your area. Overview SUMMARY The Business Director Credit Card is responsible for defining and executing the growth strategy for the credit card line of business. Credit Cards are Oportun's next step to provide a full suite of financial services to consumers with limited credit history. You will drive the growth of the business by launching the digital, media, partnerships, and retail acquisition channels, among others. You will be accountable for allocating marketing spend and meeting customer growth targets working closely with Oportun's Marketing and Credit teams. You will have a leading role directing the evolution of the value proposition and product suite design. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced organization where your contributions will have a meaningful impact on broadening access to financial products for consumers with little or no credit history. Responsibilities
    • Accountable leader for credit card customer growth and marketing
    • Develop marketing ROI model to inform marketing investments, funnel KPIs, and growth scenarios
    • Stand up a robust growth data program enabling analysis of user behavior, A/B testing, and incentives
    • Lead the strategy and execution of credit card digital, media, partnership and retail acquisition channels
    • Meet customer acquisition, growth, and retention targets
    • Execute a well-designed learning agenda and product roadmap
    • Track and analyze the performance of multi-channel growth campaigns
    • Own the evolution of the credit card value proposition, product suite design, and pricing strategy
    • Inform product design, segmentation, and messaging by bringing to life the needs and behaviors of the target audience though customer empathy insights and quantitative research
    • Conduct competitive and industry research to inform pricing and product positioning
    • Partner with marketing, credit analytics, engineering, design, product management, and operations to define and execute high impact growth strategies and funnel improvements across channels
    • Work closely with the marketing team to uncover, initiate, and improve full customer lifecycle marketing
    • Hire a team of growth analysts to scale the business DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

        • 7+ years of growth and consumer product management experience
