Our customer service, claims, and sales teams are all based in-house in the US.-- We're looking for an experienced Insurance Product Manager to own profit and growth targets in California. In this role, you will provide expertise and leadership to the insurance team, build integrated strategies and processes from scratch, and help evolve our insurance product. You will make decisions related to product, pricing and risk management to achieve growth and profit goals. California is our largest market, and you will hit the ground running day one, leading impactful initiatives through our exciting growth phase. You Will

  • Own growth, profit and loss in California
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy that positions Metromile's insurance products to meet clients' needs, build company revenues, and outperform competitors.
  • Partner across various functional groups to ensure we achieve our company objectives.
  • Identify market solutions, and support new product initiatives for teams across Metromile.
  • Lead the implementation of strategic insurance product plans and track the performance.
  • Recognize opportunities to apply solutions in products to enhance company wide performance.
  • Effectively manage projects with strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills. About You:
    • Must have in-depth knowledge of the California personal auto market.
    • Ready to move up to a lead Product Manager role, with great autonomy and impact
    • Ability to analyze, develop and manage strategies to penetrate competitor markets
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills (oral and written)
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency
    • Thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with a high capacity to multi-task and handle tight deadlines on a daily basis
    • Strong interpersonal skills that encourage team partnership, promote enthusiasm and foster strategic thinking
    • Ability to think creatively and strategically, but a willingness and desire to 'roll up your sleeves' Nice to Haves :
      • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Math/Actuarial Science or related field of study, MBA or Master's degree
      • 5 years of product analyst experience within the California property and casualty insurance industry
