You will work to identify key challenges faced within hardware, and partner with Technical Program Managers to drive programs that address these challenges from a program-level perspective.What you---ll be doing:Work closely with company leaders and our Technical Program Managers, create and own program milestones, cross-team integration points, overall schedule and execution plan, and mentor and assist other program participants in creating plans for their respective areasDevelop project roadmaps and delivery plans that align with internal customer needs and major company milestonesBuild relationships internally, with third-parties, and external manufacturersManage and drive complex, fast-evolving hardware components during early development, both in-house and by third-party vendor partnersEnsure components are built to automotive specification - shock, vibration, weather, EMI, etc - find solutions for early internal development and for long-term manufacturingTrack and report on project progress, cost, and schedules; proactively drive corrective action as needed collaborating closely with technical leadsDefine program metrics & KPIs, set up mechanisms to track/reportManage day to day operational aspects of multiple projects with large teamsKeep cross-functional teams informed and aligned on team progress & needsConduct periodic retrospectives; continuously assess & improve process & toolsOrganize and/or create appropriate program documentation and communicationsWhat you must have:BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering8 years of industry experience Ability to understand complex technical systemsBackground in Optomechanics Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguityStrong technical and nontechnical communication skillsAbility to identify and act on opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiencyAble to confidently bring order and organization to any teamBonus PointsBackground in automotive, defense, aerospace or similar requirement-driven design industry Experience with large-scale assembly line processesExperience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex electromechanical systemsExperience using confluence, SmartSheet, JIRA, ERP, PLMWhy Cruise?Our benefits are here to support the whole you:Competitive salary and benefits 401(k) Cruise matching program Medical / dental / vision, ADD and LifeFlexible vacation and company paid holidaysHealthy meals and snacks providedPaid parental leave & family expansion stipendMonthly wellness stipendCommuter benefitsWe---re IntegratedThrough our partnerships with General Motors and Honda, we are the only self-driving company with fully integrated manufacturing at scale.We---re FundedGM, Honda, SoftBank, and T.
