Minted is looking for a Creative Director to join our Brand Team and help shape and lead the Minted brand. This individual will have demonstrated design leadership in print, in-store and online marketing. The ideal candidate brings mastery of 2-D mediums, excellent typography and layout skills, advanced understanding of writing and communications, and excellence in concept creation. S/he is adept at collaboration in art creation with photographers, illustrators and artists, and at film/video and narrative storytelling. S/he has mastery of guiding teams of multiple creatives (art directors and designers). This individual will thrive in a fast paced environment, understanding the need to be agile and align to retail business needs. S/he can navigate both strategic information and the minute details, and ensures both are understood by a broader work team. Importantly, this person loves guiding the team and also enjoys maintaining their design skills by occasionally doing the work. This individual will work cross-functionally with many teams across the organization, including but not limited to Marketing and Merchandising. You Will:

• Lead the design team that delivers creative assets for Minted's businesses in both print and digital channels
• Be on set or in studio to direct photo and video shoots (during Covid times, you will be on set in San Francisco and supervise photo shoots in accordance with all applicable laws and company safety protocols)
• Establish the creative approach and provide creative insights and leadership across all touch points of the business categories you own
• Raise the bar and take our visual brand to the next level. Ensure that our visual communications are on strategy, on brand, and drive results--
• Guide the team by providing clear direction and identifying training opportunities--

  • Not afraid of getting into the weeds and doing the work yourself if needed
  • Highly collaborative in working style and an effective communicator
  • Adept at working across multiple channels You Have:
    • 12+ years of experience in design and creative direction, including managing the photography art direction and production of marketing materials. 5+ of these years in a creative leadership role
    • Advanced understanding and ability in writing and communications
    • Excellent typography and layout skills
    • Experience in online retail and/or a direct to consumer/consumer products industry
    • Experience in managing photo art direction
    • Digital creative leadership
    • Strong understanding of the full Adobe Creative Suite
