This position will be responsible for resource planning, project
delivery management, oversight, and all technical activities
required to assure project scope accuracy and quality from
conception to completion. This role requires a balance between
technical and managerial business skills. The successful candidate
will be a self-starter with customer-centric personality, strong
communication skills, and MS Office proficiency. A preference will
be provided to those that have been directly involved in developing
technical support for similar products lines in the municipal or
industrial market and have had applications engineering, project
engineering, or project management experience with other closely
related technologies. This position will report to the Manager of
Project Management and will be based at PSIs office in either
Richmond or Fremont, California.
Essential Job Functions:
-Perform initial site visit with customer to assess project
-Work directly with customers to provide engineering design support
for disinfection and mixing equipment based on customer needs,
technical resources, design specifications, and budgetary
-Review and select materials and equipment that comply with
-Develop proposals including design basis, specifications, and
-Prepare detailed material and labor cost estimates for design,
supply, and installation of equipment per specifications;
-Responsible for the overall planning, management, quality, and
completion of system deployments within schedule and budget
-Identify resource requirements, meet training needs, and define
-Prepare technical submittal documents, project materials, and
-Prepare project bills of material and all documentation needed for
-Develop and maintain Operation and Maintenance manuals for new and
existing product lines; detailed step-by-step operations and
-Regularly inspect construction site to verify progress of work and
ensure conformance with contract documents;
-Document and maintain a record of site conditions;
-Ensure that effective communications and relationships between
customers and project team members are maintained;
-Compliance with safety and personal protective equipment policies
of PSI and customer;
-Travel to customer sites to complete tasks;
-Willingness to travel and work under a variety of weather
-Have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving
record (MVR will be run regularly).
-B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, chemical or environmental
engineering or related degree;
-Three to five years engineering experience in a technical role or
-Ability to work well with others with minimal supervision;
-Excellent time management skills;
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat;
-Excellent technical writing skills and strong written and verbal
communication skills; and
-Ability to read, interpret, redline construction drawings,
including mechanical, process, and electrical.
-Ability to sit for long periods of time;
-Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or
balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands
to feel objects, tools or controls;
-Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision,
depth perception and ability to adjust focus; and
-Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.
-Experience in the municipal water and/or wastewater
-Experience as a construction project or field engineer;
-Experience in mechanical design;
-Experience in applications or a sales support role that included
bidding and selling capital equipment;
-Experience or knowledge of water disinfection and mixing
technology, especially equipment sizing;
-Familiarity with Great Plains ERP;
-Ability to identify and define system design requirements; and
-2D AutoCAD design experience.
This is an exempt position. Compensation is dependent on skill
