Kohl's is looking to onboard 2 remote Palo Alto Engineers to assist with the backlog of project work related to their corporate and store environments. We are looking for people with solid experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and VPN technologies. A huge plus would be someone who has had some exposure to cloud network security (Kohl's is a GCP environment). These projects are funded for 6 months, but there's a strong chance they could go longer.

What You'll Be Doing:
--- Making Network Security Happen:
--- You'll be the go-to person for managing firewall requests, DNS requests, and
VPN (IPsec and GlobalProtect) configurations.
--- Your focus will be on getting these tasks done promptly and securely, with an eye
toward automating where possible to keep things running smoothly.
--- Being the Network Security Concierge:
--- You'll work closely with product teams to understand what they need and turn
those requirements into secure, practical network solutions.
--- As the primary contact for network security questions, you'll ensure initiatives
succeed by providing expert advice and support.
--- Handling Escalations:
--- When issues are escalated related to fulfillment requests, you'll be the first to
step in, ensuring that they're resolved quickly and with minimal disruption.
--- You'll collaborate with the incident management team to understand the situation
and work with other teams to resolve the problem.
--- Digging into the Details:
--- After an escalation, you'll conduct root cause analysis to figure out what went
wrong and how we can prevent it from happening again.
--- You'll lead post-escalation reviews to assess how we handled the issue and
where we can improve.
--- Collaborating and Sharing Knowledge:
--- You'll work alongside other engineers, sharing your knowledge and reducing
silos, so that we all grow and succeed together.
--- By pairing with others on complex tasks, you'll help build a stronger, more
capable team.
--- Balancing Projects and Priorities:
--- You'll help prioritize our network security roadmap items, making sure we stay
aligned with business objectives while handling urgent requests.
--- Your feedback to leadership will help us stay on track and ensure we have the
resources we need.
--- Connecting with Our Users:
--- You'll establish feedback loops with our users to make sure our network solutions
are meeting their needs.
--- By staying proactive, you'll identify opportunities to enhance user satisfaction and
optimize performance.
What You Bring:

• 7-10 years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, routing, and VPN technologies.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a big plus.
• Skills in network automation tools and scripting languages (like Python, Ansible).
• The ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment without dropping the ball.
• Excellent communication skills, especially when explaining complex technical concepts
  to those who might not be as tech-savvy.
  
  • Experience with escalation management and root cause analysis.
  • A sharp eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset.
    Bonus Points If You Have:
    
    • Certifications in Palo Alto Networks (PCNSE), Google Cloud (GCP), or similar.
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (like SolarWinds).
    • A background in network security consulting or acting as a network security concierge
