Title: Network TechnicianLocation: Mobile, supporting San Francisco, CADuration: Long Term ContractWork Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the USJob Description: Position Details: Hourly position based upon experience & skill level Long term contract with possible contract extension or hire Standard work hours:Mon-Fri 9:00am - 6:00pm (OT, may include nights and weekends) Location:Mobile worker around San Francisco, CA Travel Radius: up to 4 hours from Location Candidates must have a valid Driver's License & a dependable vehicle Client Addendum will need to be followed. Copy will be provided at the time of candidates offer acceptanceResponsibilities: The patching cabling between network equipment and customers network. Can provide network connectivity to the user end devices. The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment. Install and trouble shoot cabling Can provide connectivity to user end devices Provide layer 1 support Basic telephony skills / knowledge Good customer service and relations Rack and Stack Knowledge on switches and routers VOIP Wireless Access Points Extend circuits from the MPOE through the riser system to devices in the MDF or IDF Trouble shoot circuits Knowledge of hyper terminal and putty Renovations Switch Upgrades Memory Installs VOIP upgrades Large scale user user relocations Can work independently or with a team. Capable of taking instructions or leading a team. Completes numerous tickets daily Routing / Mapping out their daily travel route in the best order to complete all assigned work orders Must have a personal smart phone with a hotspot Returns phone calls, text messages and emails in a timely manner Needs to know Word and Excel.Requirements: Requires experience in working in communications closets Must be able to perform rack and stack activities. Must be able to safely lift heavy objects Must understand cable patching processes and procedures Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking and basic telephony. Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues Must understand network terminology Must be familiar with IP phone Must be able to program Cisco phones Must be able to install Cisco VOIP phones Must be able to troubleshoot Cisco phones Requires good interpersonal communications skills Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer will understand an issue Must be able to interpret a customers issue in a way that will allow technician to facilitate a resolutionExperience and Education: 6+years of experience in data communications Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches and routers Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
