Role description:
Arcadis provides Project and Construction Management Services to oversee the Design-Build for Construction of the California High-Speed Rail System (System) in California's Central Valley. In the Construction Inspector role, you will provide oversight of adherence to the design build contractors Construction Quality Management program.
Role accountabilities:

  • Attended weekly meetings to include Progress for Walk-Thru Meetings, DFJV Construction Scheduling Meetings, HSR/Caltrans Construction Meetings, DFJV Utility Scheduling Meetings, DFJV Quality Meetings, and Irrigation Field Meetings, as needed.
  • Daily Reports & Review, Review Change Order Proposals, Assist and Present to CCC, Construction Work Plan Reviews and coordination with DFJV on Getting to Construction (GTC) Schedule Activities and Commitment dates
  • Track & report on DBs activities related to differing site conditions including the discovery, remediation, and/or disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Coordination with ROW and DFJV regarding existing irrigation crossing the alignment and with Third Party regarding utility submittals, design, and construction
  • Traffic Control Requests review, schedule Updates Review of Monthly Pay Application Requests, Segment Quantity Worksheets for Monthly Pay Applications, compile and submit weekly PCM Construction Schedules
  • Oversee and Coordinate Completion of Site Punch List Items, track, and Update Third Party Conflicts with Construction, PCM Construction Daily Roll Call Meetings, draft and Review White Papers and attend weekly and Monthly Construction Photos Submittal: All Segments.
  • Compile Progress Status and Photos for updating Monthly Confidence Report, Progress Status for the PCM Monthly Report, Progress Status for the CP 2-3 Monthly Status Report, Embankment & Construction Progress Tracker, Upload Daily Field Observation Reports, Compile Weekly Construction Labor Count and compile Weekly Construction Quantities.
  • Work with the PCM & DB Construction Safety and Security Oversight Manager to monitor safety and security activities, PCM & Authority field liaison for any construction activities within railroad right-of-way; attend weekly coordination meetings and monitor DBs compliance with environmental protection requirements
  • Review and Submit daily Construction Observation reports & photographs, provide construction oversight of all field engineers related activities and assist in various incidental tasks associated with the successful operations of the PCM Team
  • Support and coordinate 3rd Party construction activities, environmental construction activities, and PCM Engineering Reviews.
  • Provide support and coordinate ROW Certifications and Change Management on negotiations
  • Provide Status updates for weekly and Monthly productions rate in quantiles, weekly Construction activities, Negotiate Monthly Pay Application and support and coordinate 3rd Irrigation site walks and meetings Qualifications & Experience:
    • 4+ years of experience on field construction inspection as related heavy civil construction
    • BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, similar filed for equivalent work experience.
    • Previously worked for or on rail, transit, transportation highway and or grade separation construction projects Key Skills and Attributes:
      • Ability to work independently.
      • Ability to perform duties in the construction field office and effectively make decisions concerning construction work in progress and solving field problems.
      • Ability to direct the efforts of subordinate inspectors.
      • Equivalent experience in 3rd Party coordination may be substituted in place of a 4 year degree.
      • Must have experience with Task Order Management
        Arcadis offers benefits for full-time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on the start, and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $61000 - $122000.
