We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Structural Engineer
in San Francisco, CA. At Jacobs our Senior Structural Engineers are
responsible for the structural design for new structures as well as
existing structural upgrades. Our senior engineers lead the design
process of unique and challenging projects and perform
investigations to make expert recommendations to clients for
various purposes. Lead structural computations and analysis of
concrete, steel, Masonry and timber structures and conducts
calculation checks, Review drawings, specifications, reports, and
other project deliverables while working with the structural
engineering team and other disciplines within the project team.
Makes technical assumptions, thinks independently to complete
assigned work, and draws engineering conclusions. Performs
assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and
abilities, requiring application of standard engineering
techniques, procedures, and codes. Provide design inputs and
reviews of other engineer's projects. Lead meetings with clients
and promote positive client contact with current or prospective
clients. Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and
possible solutions, and leading on issues where appropriate.
As an expert on our team, you will be engaged on construction
support services, and sales and marketing to procure new work for
the vertical structures team. A successful candidate will
illustrate successful completion of these tasks.
Our Lead Structural Engineers:
--- Lead the development of structural construction drawings and
specifications
--- Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance
with construction documents
--- Perform technical writing including design reports, etc.
--- Provide inputs and lead workload planning and forecasting
--- Communicate effectively with team members and clients
--- Lead teams of engineers and drafters, and mentor junior
engineers
--- Market the vertical structure team, participate in sales
efforts, and procure new work from existing and new clients

Here's What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural
emphasis
--- Professional Engineer, (P.E.) license
--- At least 10 years of experience in designing Buildings, plant,
manufacturing, and retrofit of existing structures in high seismic
region.
--- At least 15 to 20 years of total experience
--- Experience working in multi-discipline project teams
--- Experience working on and leading pursuit activities
Ideally, here's what you'll also have:
--- Structural Engineer (S.E.) license
--- Master's degree in structural engineering
