Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Roadway Engineer for an opportunity for a
highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer in transportation
infrastructure, such as roadways, streets, highways and
interchange. This position is advertised for any Southern
California, Bay Area, or Central California office locations. Our

Your Key Responsibilities
Serve as civil designer on large to mega transportation projects
and provide design reviews of work completed by others.
Design of highways, interchanges, streets, and roadways, to meet
local, state and federal requirements.
Excellent communication skills, multi-tasking, and attentiveness to
detail.
Participant on multidisciplinary teams in an office environment as
well as in virtual team environment.
Preparation of studies, design reports, plans and specifications,
and quality assurance reviews of related designs and construction
plans.
Perform preliminary and detailed civil analysis for transportation
infrastructure related projects.
Organize, draft and coordinate production of drawings and
specifications to ensure technical accuracy.
Evaluate alternatives and resolve technical questions.
Planning, analysis and design of projects, scheduling staff, review
of work, training and mentoring staff, proposal preparation,
project presentation, and project management
Assist with preparation of budgets and scopes of work.
Assist in drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, and
completing progress reports.
Ability to work effectively independently and also as part of a
team.
Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project
managers and clients.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to perform all aspects of roadway design (geometrics,
grading, utilities, storm drain, hydrology, erosion control, etc.)
with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence
Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to
excellence in customer service
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced
environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Proficient use of MicroStation V8i, InRoads and Open Roads
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to use or familiarity with AutoCad is a plus
Experience and knowledge of AASHTO and Caltrans design directives
and specifications
Demonstrated knowledge of geometric design guidelines.
Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills, including
computer literacy in design software, and MS Office
Understanding of Caltrans PA/ED, PR/PSR, and PS&E
procedures
Understanding of Caltrans highway and right of way deliverables
Direct experience in client management and business development is
an asset
Working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Autodesk, Adobe,
and Bluebeam an asset.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in the profession of Civil
Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer in California
