full-time Network Engineer who loves solving problems, is patient
with people, and is eager to learn.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Jones IT Family, you will take on a wide variety
of tasks and projects, often involving client interactions.
- You will serve as the primary point of support for all client
server/network/infrastructure/related issues
- You will partner with internal consultant teams and onsite
resources to troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues.
- You will diagnose and resolve server and network problems
related to functionality, connectivity, management & monitoring, or
other software/hardware problems.
- You will monitor uptime for clients and be able to mobilize
quickly during emergencies, even on nights & weekends.
- You will receive ticket collaboration requests from your
assigned Consulting Team, Team Leaders, and Directors.
Communication with consultants, team leaders, and clients.
- You will review tickets and notes to ensure things are being
handled in the Jones IT way.
- You will delegate tasks when appropriate and balance team
member workloads.
- You will document procedures and solutions in detail.
- You will partner with all members of the Jones IT Team to
proactively collect and share experiences/tools/information that
will aid in maximizing the value of efficiency and teamwork for our
company and all of our clients. Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
- You practice what you preach; lead by example. You are
accountable; the buck stops with you.
- You are able to handle issues that have been elevated to them
with excellent customer service.
- You push beyond your limits to solve the toughest problems
where no solutions exist; you demonstrate confidence with networks
and servers.
- You are an all-star consultant & project leader. Experience
supporting networking and server environments of 100 or more
users.
- You are driven to continuously learn, curious about taking
technology beyond the limits, and passionate about teaching others
and sharing knowledge.
- You take ownership, are able to discover emergency issues (even
on nights & weekends), mobilize resources, & find solutions while
keeping calm under pressure.
- You are a self-starter, works smarter (not harder), and is
efficient at time management.
- You are detailed documentation focused and a master in the art
of analogy to describe complicated technology to customers and
teammates.
- You have a proven track record of working well in team
environments. Education/Experience Nice-to-haves (Optional):
- 4+ years of experience or equivalent
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
- Experience with deployment of networking stack not limited to
routers, switches, wireless access points.
- Experience with Networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.) Active
Directory, Hyper-V/VMware, Group Policy, RDS, Powershell.
- Proven record of handling or being involved in complex projects
(Network setups, server setup & migrations).
- PM experience with working with external vendors (such as ISP
vendors and Low voltage vendors)
- Cloud computing knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- CompTIA Network+ completed (or equivalent) What we offer:
