Position SummaryWe seek a highly motivated Senior Research
Associate to support the protein engineering group. The successful
candidate will contribute to the development and engineering of
activatable protein therapeutics spanning different modalities
including cytokines, antibodies, and bispecific molecules. The
candidate will work on DNA construct design, cloning,
structure-guided protein, and peptide design, display library
screening and protein binding studies.Professional
Responsibilities
- Work with project teams (internal and partnered) to design,
clone, and optimize activatable protein-therapeutics.
- Engineer novel functionalities into protein scaffolds,
leveraging rational design of proteins and peptides and structural
modeling.
- Screen display libraries to identify masking peptides for
antibodies and cytokines.
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure
timely progress in research projects and drive technological
innovations.
- Prepare, analyze, and present data internally and
externally.Minimum Qualifications
- MS in Biochemistry with 4+ years of experience in the
biotechnology or biopharma industry OR BS in Biochemistry with 6+
years of experience in the biotechnology or biopharma industry
- Hands-on experience with routine molecular biology and cloning
techniques (DNA construct designing, PCR, and
ligation/recombinase-based cloning, sequence analysis and
alignment).
- Must have experience with ELISAs.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with display library screening and next-generation
sequencing (NGS).
- Experience with high-throughput (HTP) protein expression and
purification from mammalian cells.
- Hands-on experience with cytokines and antibodies and their
application in cancer.
- Hands-on with structural biology software like PyMol, Discovery
Studio and Schrodinger.
- Computer programming skills (e.g. Python, R, etc.).

- The expected salary range for this role based on the primary
location for this position in California is $105,000 - $135,000 per
year. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience,
qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors
permitted by law.

- Effective October 2021, employees will be required to attest to
and verify whether or not they have been vaccinated for COVID-19
