Job Description:
Allstates Consulting Services is looking for a Network
Technician to work with our partner in San Francisco, CA. You will
be doing the below type of work.
- Racking and stacking of network devices
- Cable patching
- Physical layer troubleshooting
- Equipment disposal activities
- Installing and troubleshooting Cisco and Avaya IP phones
This position will support facilities management, site security and
project engagement with a commitment and desire to satisfy our
customer by completing all work at the highest level, always
striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and
self-driven for success.
Position Details:
- Hourly position based upon experience & skill level
- Long term contract with possible contract extension or
hire
- Standard work hours: Mon-Fri 9:00am-6:00pm (OT, may include
nights and weekends)
- Location: Mobile worker around San Francisco, CA
- Travel Radius: up to 4 hours from Location
- Candidates must have a valid Driver's License & a dependable
vehicle
- Client Requirement: Must be COVID Vaccinated
Responsibilities:
- The patching cabling between network equipment and customer s
network.
- Can provide network connectivity to the user end
devices.
- The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network
equipment.
- Install and trouble shoot cabling
- Can provide connectivity to user end devices
- Provide layer 1 support
- Basic telephony skills / knowledge
- Good customer service and relations
- Rack and Stack
- Knowledge on switches and routers
- VOIP
- Wireless Access Points
- Extend circuits from the MPOE through the riser system to
devices in the MDF or IDF
- Trouble shoot circuits
- Knowledge of hyper terminal and putty
- Renovations
- Switch Upgrades
- Memory Installs
- VOIP upgrades
- Large scale user relocations
- Can work independently or with a team.
- Capable of taking instructions or leading a team.
- Completes numerous tickets daily
- Routing / Mapping out their daily travel route in the best
order to complete all assigned work orders
- Must have a personal smart phone with a hotspot
- Returns phone calls, text messages and emails in a timely
manner
- Needs to know Word and Exel
Requirements:
- Requires experience in working in communications
closets
- Must be able to perform rack and stack activities.
- Must be able to safely lift heavy objects
- Must understand cable patching processes and
procedures
- Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking
and basic telephony.
- Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues
- Must understand network terminology
- Must be familiar with IP phone
- Must be able to program Cisco phones
- Must be able to install Cisco VOIP phones
- Must be able to troubleshoot Cisco phones
- Requires good interpersonal communications skills
- Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer
will understand an issue
- Must be able to interpret a customer s issue in a way that will
allow technician to facilitate a resolution
Experience and Education:
- 6+ years of experience in data communications
- Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches and
routers
- Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area
networking.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
