Opportunity: The above client is looking for a Propulsion Engineer to lead testing and validation of propulsion systems for a new aircraft. This candidate will work closely with the broader test team to test power electronics in battery management systems and propulsion inverters in various conditions.
Requirements: 4+ years professional experience with powertrain and electronic testing in the automotive or aerospace industries, with a focus on propulsion.
Core responsibilities

• Identify and implement test measures for power electronics, systems, battery packs and propulsion inverters prior to aircraft installation
• Run failure and root cause analyses and electrical stress tests under various operating conditions
• Design and implement functional and acceptance tests for propulsion inverter PCBAs
• Run test automation (Labview/Python)
• Collaborate with reliability engineering, electrical engineering and design engineering teams to ensure all power electronics pass acceptance testing
  Required Experience
  • Propulsion based on motors
  • Testing of semiconductor switching devices
  • LabView/Python (data collection)
  • Testing battery management systems for power conversion
  • Oscilloscopes, DAQ systems, power supplies, and load bank setup
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics
  • 4-10 years of experience in automotive or aerospace industries
    Ideal candidate
    • PCB design experience
    • Experience with HV systems
