Senior/Staff Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a talented individual to join the Process Development team and contribute your technical manufacturing and equipment/tools design skills to a dynamic environment as a Senior/Staff Manufacturing Engineer. Working in close collaboration with the R&D engineering and biology teams, the Manufacturing Engineer will serve as the subject matter expertise that leads new product transfer, scale-up activities design and implementation of new and existing platforms, consumable and reagent manufacturing processes. The position will oversee process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time, and improve product quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Lead tech transfer of engineering projects from R&D to manufacturing in-house and at CMO
* Responsible for supporting manufacturing activities of Mission Bio's hardware and consumables
* Identify and implement continuous improvement projects with respect to first pass yield, cycle time reduction, product reliability, capacity enhancement, and cost reduction
* Take responsibility for maintaining compliance with the quality system including corrective action closure, discrepant material dispositions, and ECO implementation
* Lead root cause analysis for manufacturing-related issues in hardware and consumables
* Write SOPs and technical documentation as needed
* Provide technician training and oversee specified manufacturing processes to ensure quality
* Provide product and process Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly input to enhance manufacturability of new products
* Travel up to 10% of the Time

Required Skills:

* Technical drawing: GD&T fluency
* Experience in precision injection molding.
* Previous experience in vendor management.
* Experience in mechanical design for manufacturing tools and fixtures
* Experience in designing and executing continuous improvement activities.
* Familiar with most common hardware manufacturing processes.
* Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
* Proficient with CAD software -- Solidworks, CREO/Pro-E, Inventor.
* Experience in an ISO or medical device manufacturing environment a plus
* Proficient with Google Suite or related software.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset.
* Ability to manage several projects and prioritize.
* Previous injection molding experience a plus

Education and Experience:

* Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, MS or Ph.D. preferred
* At least 5 years (PH.D.) or 10 years (MS) of process development, manufacturing or hardware development experience
