Role Principal Motion Planning EngineerLocation San Francisco, CASalary - $250k+
This Advanced UAV company is one of the largest, most reliable names in aerial robotics for commercial operations and leading the future of autonomous flight. They are currently looking for a Principal Motion Planning Engineer to lead the direction of research and development of motion planning and SLAM algorithms. You will have the opportunity to join a powerhouse in the aerial robotics industry and contribute to their continued growth in the UAS space with clients across a variety of industries including fire fighting, security, law enforcement, inspection, mapping, medical, surveying and mapping ect. Responsibilities of the Role

  • Lead the motion planning and trajectory planning algorithms development for Advanced UAVs
  • Attack and solve a variety of problems across motion planning, SLAM and perception
  • Work collaboratively with hardware team to ensure that software works effectively
  • Lead the direction of technology, research and development of motion planning and trajectory planning algorithms for a variety of drones Requirements
    • Masters or PhD in Computer Science or related field
    • 5+ years experience of motion planning algorithm development with mobile robotics
    • Strong background autonomous algorithm development
    • Solid background in C++/Python
