THE ROLE We are looking for a data analytics engineer to join our team and take on a mission to help deliver our DataOps managed services, contribute to data modeling efforts, and assist in implementing data governance and data quality best practices. This role will have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders across the company, enabling our growth through appropriate data metrics, validation, documentation, and tooling. The ideal candidate has a passion for data and coding, strong knowledge of the modern data stack, and is adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.The person were looking for shares our passion about reinventing the data platform and thrives in a very dynamic environment. It means keeping up to date on the ever-evolving technologies for data and analytics to be an authoritative resource for NextPhase, our partners, and clients. And it means working collaboratively with a broad range of people both inside and outside the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Help our clients modernize their data transformation objectives by providing guidance, support and best practices leveraging dbt
  • Assist in projects to optimize queries and legacy stored procedures to be more efficient and easier to maintain moving forward
  • Develop transformation models in dbt that are reusable and can be easily deployed from client to client
  • Help define and improve processes and standards for data observability and data quality to enhance our DataOps managed services
  • Assess and develop CI/CD strategy for the data teams code base for optimal efficiency and collaboration
  • Perform data/business analyst functions such as requirements gathering, technical designs, and testing documentation
  • Work with team members to design and build reliable data pipelines to replace manual tasks of data cleaning and ingestion from data sources
  • Monitor the status of data pipelines and data products and promptly troubleshoot and resolve issues to prevent business impact
  • Work with data analysts and data scientists to design data architectures that will improve and meet data project objectivesQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • 4+ years of experience working in a data analytics role performing design, development, implementation, management, and support of data structures, data pipelines, and data warehouses
    • 2+ years of experience using dbt, or similar tooling integrated source code version control, and continuous integration processes
    • Advanced SQL authoring skills and experience with multiple RDMS such as MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, etc.
    • Experience deploying and using data analytics visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
    • Experience in statistical models & analysis
    • Understanding of quality assurance and data quality principles as applied to ETL
    • Ability to communicate technical and data concepts to non-technical audiences, and business concepts to technical audiences
    • Hands-on development experience in Python
    • Expertise with data pipeline orchestration tools, like Airflow
    • Customer-facing and service-oriented experience
      EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL TRAINING Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred Certifications in the abovementioned technologies preferred
