Position Information Position Title: Kindergarten Teacher Reports To: ECE Coordinator Annual Salary: $60,000 Working Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. How This Role Fits into the Team Each member of our team is essential to building a thriving culture that sees and calls out the image of God in our students and in one another. As a classroom teacher, you’ll help develop our ECE Program, support initiatives to further our institutional effectiveness and reach, as well as support the overall wellbeing of our students through facilitating daily academic, social, spiritual, and emotional learning. Qualifications & Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree Pursue the ACSI Teacher Certification, Classical Educator Equivalent, CA Teacher Credential, or Master’s in Classical Education within two years of initial employment. Experience Professional working experience in relevant field(s). Professional Development Commitment to ongoing training and spiritual formation throughout the year. Employment Type & Compensation Employment Type Full Time Salaried, Exempt Sick Pay 72 hours annually accrued at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked. Benefits 100% Employer Paid Healthcare, Computer, equipment & software Compensation Annual salary paid bi monthly. Optional partial tuition credit available. Key Responsibilities Academic Instruction & Classroom Leadership Work with the team to develop, write, and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with learning standards and classical education principles. Integrate history, literature, and biblical truths into daily lessons, fostering a love for learning and a deep understanding of virtue. Organize and manage a classroom that fosters curiosity, structure, and joy in learning. Implement classroom management strategies, rhythms, and routines that create a peaceful and effective learning environment. Student Progress & Assessment Monitor student progress, evaluate performance, and provide feedback on academic growth, social-emotional development, and character formation. Maintain an up-to-date and accessible grade book, ensuring transparency for parents. Assess incoming students to determine grade-level proficiency and instructional needs . Parent & Faculty Collaboration Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom updates. Host parents for Back-to-School Night, Open Houses, and Parent-Teacher Conferences (twice per year, with flexibility for after-school hours). Participate in faculty meetings and professional development workshops to grow as a classical educator. Schoolwide Support & Community Engagement Supervise students during recess, morning arrival, afternoon pick-up, and other school programming as needed. Prepare lesson plans for substitute teachers and arrange for coverage when absent. Complete report cards and progress reports in alignment with the academic calendar. Develop and maintain curriculum maps for each subject taught in kindergarten. Take responsibility for student learning outcomes, providing remedial instruction before, during, or after school as needed.
