Job responsibilities include:
Prepare curriculum and teach group fitness classes. Complete
ancillary administrative records and assist with promotions.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Attend staff
meetings and in-house training as required. Annually, contribute to
the assessment of the class and personal performance evaluation.
Remain current in industry standards prescribed by supervisor.
Behave in a professional manner, work as a team player and adhere
to facility policies.
UCSF Fitness and Recreation inspires growth and health on the UCSF
campus through fitness, community, and play. The Group Fitness unit
is an integral part of Fitness and Recreation and provides customer
service while ensuring participants participate in Group Fitness
instruction in a safe environment. The Group Fitness Instructor
works under direct supervision of the Group Fitness Manager and is
responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the
Fitness unit, which includes customer service, creating and
following lesson plans and providing quality instruction to all
program participants.
Note: This is a limited position and ends 1 year from date of hire,
with potential to renew annually.

listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement
are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range
of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into
consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current
salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.For
roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be
specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the

UCSF Fitness and Recreation operates two fitness centers at UCSF.
We provide fitness and wellbeing services to UCSF students,
faculty, staff and community members through a broad range of
fitness, recreation, aquatics, personal training, outdoor programs,
and health and wellness programs. We make life better here by
inspiring fitness and wellbeing for everyone. UCSF Fitness and
Recreation's mission is to enrich the human spirit, quality of
life, and community at UCSF. We are passionate fitness and
recreation professionals committed to doing quality work. We
