Wade II, Sr. Academic Manager/Athletic Director, Contra Costa College, via e-mail at ********************* or office phone at (510)215-4804Location: Contra Costa College Posting Number: F00648 Yearly Salary Range / Hourly Range: $14,730 Contract Amount Discipline: Coaching Alternate Discipline Not Applicable Duties and Responsibilities - Direct all aspects of Contra Costa College's men's soccer program as the head coach while working with the Athletics Director - Recruitment of service area high schools and contiguous districts' students/athletes - Development of the men's soccer program - Maintain the schedule and budget of the men's soccer program - Selection of assistant coaches - Possess knowledge of all Commission on Athletics and Bay Valley Conference rules and regulations - Fundraising for the men's soccer program - Retention of students/athletes at the college level Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.Desirable Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of exercise or Adaptive Physical Education and two years experience in soccer coaching; OR Associate's Degree in Physical Education or Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of exercise or Adaptive Physical Education and six years experience in soccer coaching - Knowledge of California Community College Commission on Athletics rules and regulations and Bay Valley Conference rules - Experience in recruitment and retention of student/athletes at the college level - Organizational skills and ability to teach soccer skills to all age groups - Experience in fund raising and community service activities - Demonstrated experience with sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic background of the community college student - Master's/Bachelor's Degree in physical education or related area preferred Job Close Date: 12/31/2019 Open Until Filled: No Employment Begins: January 1, 2020 How to Apply - Interested applicants must submit all of the application materials online to be considered for this position. An approved National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) agency must evaluate your course work. Those who are deemed to possess the highest degree of desirable qualifications will be invited to the college at their own expense. - During the campus visit, each applicant will be interviewed and may be asked to conduct a demonstration appropriate to the discipline. Selected interviewees may be invited to present an entire lecture in front of a class. Responses to the interview questions and demonstration will be rated by the interview committee. - Based upon the overall rating, a small number of applicants will be invited at their own expense to the campus for an interview with the college president and vice president of instruction. - After consultation with the interview committee, the college president will make the final recommendation for employment to the chancellor and the governing board of the Contra Costa Community College District. - Upon hire, the successful candidate must meet the conditions of employment. Finalists must provide verification of transcripts. TB assessment, fingerprinting/conviction clearance and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Foreign Degree and Credit Statement All foreign degrees and credits used to meet the minimum qualifications must be evaluated by an approved National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) agency ************* prior to the implementation of the equivalency process. Two local firms that provide this service are International Education Research Foundation ************** ************ and Educational Records Evaluation Service ************** ************. Credits previously accepted by an accredited institution will be accepted with no further evaluation. It is the applicant's responsibility to arrange and pay for the foreign degree evaluation.
