Job Summary: Bizzell US is seeking an experienced Appliance (Kitchen) Technician to join our Facilities Maintenance and Management team at NASA AMES. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining kitchen appliances and equipment across the JPL campus, ensuring that all kitchen facilities operate efficiently and safely. Responsibilities: • Install, repair, and maintain kitchen appliances, including refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, microwaves, and other kitchen equipment. • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen appliances to identify and resolve issues. • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity and reliability of kitchen equipment. • Collaborate with the facilities maintenance team to support overall campus operations. • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. • Respond to emergency repair calls and provide solutions promptly. • Utilize hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment for appliance repair. • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with industry standards and best practices. Requirements: Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in appliance repair preferred. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in appliance repair with a strong emphasis on kitchen equipment. • Extensive knowledge of kitchen appliances, their systems, and components. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces. • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to appliance repair and facilities maintenance. • Previous experience working in a high-tech or research facility preferred. • Certification in appliance repair or a related field is a plus. • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred. • Knowledge of green building practices and sustainability initiatives preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
