Job Description:
Under general supervision, applies acquired skills as a revenue
cycle analyst to complete projects of moderate scope and
complexity. Under the supervision of the ZSFG Division of
Pediatrics Division Administrator and the Clinical Practice Group
(CPG)Director, the Division of Pediatrics Billing/Compliance
Analyst is responsible for organizing and maintaining the timely
flow of documentation to the coding and billing department (CPG).
This position is also the principal resource for evaluating
documentation, management services and procedural reports as well
as assigning the appropriate codes for billing. Involves revenue
cycle functions for the healthcare enterprise, including system
billing, reporting and support. Ensures account information
contains accurate and comprehensive data to provide timely billing
and optimal reimbursement for services. Impacts processes to
include charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data
entry, billing, payment posting, refund processing and collections.
When needed, the incumbent is responsible to interface with various
providers to ensure completion of documentation. The incumbent is
responsible for the following but not limited to: timely review,
coding, batching, submission, and tracking of inpatient charges.
This position will coordinate and participate in the processing of
charges by abstracting and coding medical information from patient
records, ensuring accuracy of work and adherence to established
coding guidelines. Income from clinical activity constitutes a
significant percentage of the division's funding. The ability to
track, analyze and report on revenue cycle issues is critical to
the division's financial stability. May also be responsible for /
integrated with business office operations. Under the supervision

that to look up): Please note: The compensation ranges listed
online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are
very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of
80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into
consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current
salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For
roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be
specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
