We are looking for an Audit Project Manager (Senior Auditor),
Strategic Support Functions or Reserve Bank Operations for our San
Francisco Federal Reserve Bank Internal Audit Team.
The Strategic Support Functions audit team audits a wide variety of
business areas such as Financial Management, Enterprise Risk
Management, Procurement, Bank Supervision, Credit Risk Management,
Human Resources and Strategy, Inclusion and Diversity, Legal, Data
Privacy, and Ethics, Business Continuity, Data Insights and
Analytics, External Communications, and Public Engagement.
The Reserve Bank Operations audit team audits large scale Cash
Operations, Federal Law Enforcement, Facilities Management, and
other Administrative Services.
Preferably you live in commutable distance to our downtown San
Francisco Head Office (Embarcadero). Other locations within our
district such as Los Angeles and Salt Lake City are also
available.
- Serve as Auditor-In-Charge to lead audits of moderate to
complex business environments.
- Review the audit work and coach assisting auditors to ensure
the completion of audits and special projects within time and
quality.
- Become a knowledge source for Strategic Support Functions or
Reserve Bank Operations by serving in the role of Audit Liaison.
This role will allow you to build and maintain a positive and
collaborative partnership with one or more business leaders in our
district, develop a broad business perspective of Federal Reserve
System functions and services, and to stay informed about business
practices.
- Complete annual risk assessments for the Strategic Support
Functions or Reserve Bank Operations and provide input to the
department's annual audit plan.
- Perform walkthroughs and flowchart processes, identify key
controls, build, and implement detailed testing methods to evaluate
the adequacy of controls.
- Identify control improvement needs and recommend management
actions.
- Prepare clear, concise, and persuasive work paper documentation
in line with the IIA International Standards.
- Perform follow-up activity on issues reported by Audit and
external parties.
- Participate in local (District) and nationwide (System)
workgroups.
- Requires 2-3 days per week on average in the office. These days
are flexible, and we recognize that unforeseen events may require
more time to work from home in certain weeks.
- Reserve Bank Operations audit team only : Requires traveling to
our branch offices in Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, and Salt Lake
City. Assignments are typically 3-5 days and occur on average 1-2
times each quarter. Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in leading risk-based internal audits
.
- Analytical approach and critical thinking skills. Ability to
apply good judgment when making decisions related to internal
control evaluations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to prepare
clear, persuasive audit work papers, and communicate audit results
including observations.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and project management
skills.
- Ability to listen, communicate, and influence others
effectively through various mediums.
- Ability to flowchart processes, identify key controls, and
develop applicable audit procedures.
- Knowledge of the Institute of Internal Auditor's International
Professional Practices Framework (IPPF); and the Committee on
Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) internal control and Enterprise
Risk Management (ERM) risk assessment and IT Control
frameworks.
- Strong analytical / critical thinking skills and ability to
apply sound judgment when making decisions related to business
activities of moderate to high complexity.
- Knowledge of operational and business concepts and risk
(including fraud) assessment practices.
- Have a general understanding of information security, general
IT controls, application controls, and technology risks for various
hardware and software platforms.
- Ability to establish collaborative team and audit client
relationships including negotiation and influencing skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
Visio.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder with the intent to
become a US Citizen. Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Bachelors or masters degree in business administration, Risk
Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional audit certification(s) such as (CIA) Certified
Internal Auditor, (CPA) Certified Public Accountant or (CISA)
Certified Information System Auditor , or commitment to obtain the
CIA within the first two years of employment.
- Internal auditing experience within financial services and/or
government agency.
- Knowledge of computer-assisted auditing and data analytics
software.
- Ideally, demonstrates broadbased knowledge in various Bank
functions, operations, and Bank/Federal Reserve System policies,
and has extensive knowledge of internal control systems applicable
to Bank operations and functions. Base Salary Range:
- Min: $94,800 Mid: $123,100 Max: $151,400 (Location: San
Francisco)
- Min: $86,200 Mid: $112,100 Max: $137,800 (Location: Los
Angeles)
- Min: $74,800 Mid: $97,200 Max: $119,600 (Location: Salt Lake
City)Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants
background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with
