Amex Digital Labs is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and leading emerging products and platforms that can be crucial to our customers lives. We emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation. Focus areas include crafting industry-leading digital payment solutions, using our outstanding servicing network and lifestyle assets to build digital experiences, and defining new products and services based on emerging technologies and trends. This is a fast-paced team driving the development of digital payment solutions and partner experiences at American Express.The person taking this role will define money movement product features and strategy for the team. They will also help gather requirements for the enterprise money movement team, the financial accounting hub and financial reporting teams. They will create user stories, epics and acceptance criteria for the tech team, and evolve the product backlog. The Manager will represent the product with internal and external audiences, acting as the main point of contact with any partner product and tech teams related to their workstream. Product Managers at American Express play a central role identifying customer needs, building unique experiences, and leading teams across the company to launch digital products.How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Balance the needs of customers, internal partners, leadership, and collaborators, to define product features, user stories, acceptance criteria, user experience, product roadmap and backlog
  • Working with accounting teams and financial partners to solution any rebalancing between banking systems.
  • Solutioning with partner banks to help define the most efficient way for money to move (including ACH, wire transfers and real time payments)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to shepherd the product through the development process, advocating to create the best outcomes
  • Partner with engineers and solutions architects to creatively solution, assess tradeoffs, define API specs, and deliver product features/platform capabilities
  • Set and supervise development/release timelines, navigate intricate dependencies, and communicate impacts to partners
  • Form hypotheses, define metrics, analyze KPIs, and collect feedback in order to continuously improve the product and refine feature backlog
  • Coordinate across internal/external teams to launch money movement features in market and lead products post-launch
  • Implement procedures and processes for customer service, operations, and production support
  • Document and distribute requirements, process flows, and data flows
  • Digest legal regulations/requirements and create the best outcome possible for customers while meeting those requirements
  • Maintain pulse on external trends and marketplace dynamics impacting the payments and banking industry, to inform continuous product evolutionMinimum Qualifications
    • Experience working on money movement or accounting/reporting flows
    • Strong working knowledge and interest in of Cryptocurrencies and Digital Assets
    • Passion for outstanding products and services, able to empathize with customers, and skilled at articulation of product functionality
    • Understanding of tech and product development processes, known as a business person who can speak both tech and business languages
    • Curiosity and hunger to know how things work and ability to use that knowledge to make connections and find opportunities with an entrepreneurial approach and bias toward action
    • Determination to uphold a Customer First viewpoint, keeping both Card Members and Merchants top of mind in new product development
    • Detail oriented, able to identify key questions, make product decisions and assess how pieces of the puzzle interact and affect the overall project
    • Recognize issues quickly and determine how to get a resolution through creative and effective problem solving
    • Excellent communication skills across distributed and global teams with ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment
    • Highly organized, taking individual initiative and accountability for getting results
    • Passion for mobile product and technology with desire to learn more about, or have prior experience in, digital identityPreferred Qualifications
      • Experience in new product development, product management, or similar role
