Job Description Description The Opportunity: The Financial Services Specialist is an integral member of the Local Shared Services team and works closely with office leadership and consulting staff by supporting and participating in billing and collection efforts and helping to ensure that the business is paid promptly for consulting work delivered to clients. The Specialist focuses on learning and applying core knowledge and skills required to perform responsibilities that are critical to the Region's profitability. The incumbent works independently and, on a team, under close supervision and, takes initiative to review own work for accuracy and completeness and meet own work commitments. The Specialist contributes to problem-solving and supports efforts to improve business unit operations performance and output by interacting with consultants and executive staff to identify billing issues and recommending approaches to improving financial processes and activities. The Associate contributes to the input of others and to a work culture that is divers, equitable and inclusive. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Local Shared Services Team to ensure that the client billing, accounts receivable collection, new business reporting and fee renewals (Notices of Agreements, Client Acceptance and Pricing Approval Summary (CAPAS) and Existing Acceptance and Pricing Approval Summary (EAPAS), client matter information (Client Financial Action Forms)), report distribution, and the collaboration with staff members to make financial information readily available.
  • Manages the billing system: coordinates internal client billing processes to ensure all procedures are executed accordingly. This includes processing a high volume of invoices, learning and applying BIO (the company's Financial Information database) and Power BI; tracking and accounting for all commission revenue received from carriers or insurance company. Creating, maintaining and reconciling Excel spreadsheets to track and initiate financial activity is a key responsibility.
  • Posts and tracks commission payments received from insurance carriers.
  • Support the team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of assigned work. Exercises discretion and good judgment when handling sensitive client information and in maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Effectively multi-task and set priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Works well under minimum direction - exercised a strong sense of project ownership and commitment to meeting desired project deadlines and outcomes and; consistently exercises good judgment in determining how to overcome problems, deciding what needs to be done and how and, keeping those in the need to know, informed.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with the nature of consulting work being done in order to accurately and appropriately reflect and classify information in the financial system. Communicates effectively with clients and insurance carriers as needed, both orally and in writing.
  • Reads and understands contract language and, exercises good judgment in determining how contract information should be entered into the financial system to ensure that revenue is being accurately accrued and invoices are being prepared in accordance with contract requirements. Qualifications Key Requirements:
    • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or related field, preferred; familiarity with accounting principals required.
    • Minimum of 3-5 -years of related work experience preferably within a service-oriented environment; some familiarity with broker commission statements and understanding how commissions are paid to include ability to research, analyze and summarize financial information, accounts receivable, broker commission statements and expenses.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint (Office 2016).
    • Proficiency in Power BI

The current salary range for this position is $60,000 to $84,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance up to 10%.
