Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Development Officer (BDO) reporting to the WFCC Sponsor Finance - West Leader and will be focused both on traditional ABL and enterprise software lending opportunities.In this role you will:

  • Originate and transact secured lending opportunities in the middle and large corporate market for a group of private equity sponsors and from other third-party intermediaries, including investment banks and consultants in the West region.
  • Responsibilities include conducting effective analysis of complex transactions, negotiate terms and conditions during the screening/proposal stage, and working with the underwriting team through a successful closing
  • Develop new and maintain existing referral source relationships
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to private equity and other referral sources and internal leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise to execute on transactions and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Partner with our portfolio teams with client and private equity coverage, including the coverage of M&A, capital markets and general recapitalization activityThis role requires the ability to influence change across all levels of Wells Fargo through a trusted and thoughtful leadership approach while managing many stakeholders. The successful candidate will work with leaders in a matrixed environment to drive loan and fee growth. Deep domain expertise in secured lending products and well-developed credibility with senior risk and control partners will also drive the candidate's effectiveness. Required Qualifications:
    • 7+ years of Secured Lending Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:
      • Private Equity sponsor coverage experience
      • Strong knowledge of ABL and leveraged cash flow lending, as well as familiarity with recurring revenue deal structures
      • Candidate will possess a high energy level with an eagerness to learn and assume responsibility
      • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
      • Ability to multi-task and perform under tight timelines Job Expectations:
