Account Executive, SMB

Company: Carta
Location: San Francisco
Posted on: June 26, 2022

Job Description:

The Company You'll Join

At Carta we create owners and make private markets liquid.

We live in a world where some people live on the equity stack and enjoy exponential wealth growth and preferential tax treatment; others live on the debt stack and may work their entire lives for a company and retire only with the cash they've managed to save from their paychecks. Our contribution to solving the wealth inequality problem is moving people from the debt stack (payroll) to the equity stack. By making it as easy to issue equity to employees as it is to put them on payroll, we can create more owners.

At Carta, we are helpful, transparent, fair, and kind. We are relentless executors, unconventional thinkers, and masters of our craft.

The Team You'll Work With

This role is on the SMB sales team within the Private Corporations business unit. You will join a team of account executives to sell to our early-stage companies, typically Series A and earlier.

The Problems You'll Solve

The SMB segment has grown tremendously over the last 12 months. We must continue winning early-stage companies and making them lifelong customers. To do so we need to capture companies at their incorporation and support them as their cap table needs change and their compliance requirements become more complex.

Some of the problems you'll help us solve are:

  • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy and sales plan that ensures consistent achievement of quota attainment
  • Drive revenue through strategic outbound prospecting
  • Understand customer needs and requirements and surface those findings back to Carta The Impact You'll Have

As an Account Executive at Carta, you'll introduce early-stage companies and venture-backed founders to our best-in-class software platform to help them streamline their equity management, stay compliant, and unlock liquidity in the private markets.

    About You

We're looking for ambitious, curious, yet humble people to join our sales team. You do not need to be a fintech expert - new hires will receive training on Carta software, private market finance, and equity administration, though an interest in these fields is helpful! Additionally, you should be prepared for the following:
    • Outbound prospecting, managing a high-velocity pipeline and closing 15-20 contracts/month
    • Proactively finding solutions to problems, being a self-starter, and being comfortable with a fast-paced environment
    • Uplevel the team with a positive attitude and focus on collaboration
      Covid Vaccine Policy

In an effort to safeguard the health of our employees, Carta has implemented a policy requiring all new hires to receive the COVID vaccine (including boosters as the individuals become eligible for them). Proof of vaccination will be required as a condition of employment. Carta will continue to comply with applicable laws regarding the reasonable accommodation of individuals with disabilities and/or strongly held religious beliefs. This policy is part of Carta's ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and community, and to support public health efforts.

We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate. If accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are needed, connect with us via email at . As a company, we value fairness, helpfulness, transparency, leadership and build our teams around these values.
