Location: San Fracisco, CA Category: Staff Positions Posted On: Fri May 13 2022 Job Description: Under the supervision of the Chief Diversity Officer, the Associate Director will support administration, project management, program implementation, data management, and evaluation for the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The Associate Director, DEI, is responsible for supporting multiple and simultaneous initiatives and programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across constituencies. To that end, the Associate Director, DEI, will assume responsibility for Division administration, supporting the Chief Diversity Officer as an executive assistant; support the calendaring, planning, and executing a range of projects and events; provide project management as assigned; provide support with program evaluation and data analysis; provide navigation and referrals to other student-serving departments; and support the Division with communications projects, and may supervise student workers, and project managers as needed.

The Associate Director, DEI, is a passionate leader, who understands industry trends and supports best practices and innovations in higher education. They bring a blend of lived and professional experiences to their role and sees themselves as a change agent who is deeply invested in the Division's strategic priorities and CIIS's Seven Commitments. This position requires high-level organizational skills, excellent communication skills, flexibility, and an intersectional approach to diversity.

The Associate Director, DEI, position has been designated as having a flexible-hybrid schedule, with the requirement of onsite work as needed.

Provides general administrative support and oversight for DDEI leadership, including budgeting, communications, event logistics, and other duties as assigned.Serves as the Division's scheduling and organizational liaison.Supports financial reconciliation and reporting, including accounts payable.Helps develop and maintain resources and information on CIIS Connect, SharePoint, CIIS website, and other communications projects as assigned.Supports with institutional data collection, analysis, and reporting.Supports program evaluation, including creating, administering and surveys and evaluations, analyzing and reporting results.Contributes to DEI programming and execution.Co-develops and co-leads workshops and orientations for students and staff.Provides navigation and support to CIIS students and all DDEI stakeholders.Serves on various committees within the institute promoting the values of diversity and inclusion in collaborative dialogue with staff, students and faculty.Supervise student workers and project managers as needed.Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements:Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor or Master's degreeMinimum of 2 years relevant work experience in higher education setting.Supervisory experience is required.Expertise or related lived experiences in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.Strong written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of difference, privilege, and power.Ability to work with a diverse group of constituents, including faculty, staff, and students.Understands foundational qualitative and quantitative research methods.Proficient in Microsoft Office. Occasional work performed alone with ability to work remotely from time-to-time. Collaboration and constant work around and with other people.
