Your Opportunity: The SAMS Technology Business Management team supports Schwab business goals through operational management of SAMS Technology. Our team manages strategy and planning, governance and communication as well as budget, workforce, project management, and audit/risk oversight. Our team collaborates across a matrixed organization internally and externally with SAMS Technology and STS, to deliver business value through efficient, disciplined and predictable project execution of effective solutions to business problems and opportunities. What you are good at: The Business Risk Internal Control (BRIC) and Technology Risk Liaison position will be responsible for supporting SAMS Technology in managing and maintaining a risk-aware culture with adherence to Schwab corporate policies, technology standards, and regulatory requirements in alignment with common IT risk and control frameworks. These responsibilities include partnering with the STS BRIC, Technology Risk & Cyber Compliance (TRACC), Technology Risk Management, SAMS business risk and Internal Audit departments in the oversight and maintenance of the technology risk program, including:Act as a single point of contact on behalf of SAMS Technology with Compliance, Audit, and Business Risk PartnersCoordinate and support Audit, Risk, Regulatory, and Client Due Diligence engagements impacting SAMS TechnologyAct as the risk management expert within SAMS Technology providing leadership and guidance to ensure risk data is captured, that risk mitigation strategies and controls are developed, and the appropriate reporting mechanisms are in placeDevelop and maintain strong partnerships across SAMS Technology Management and staff, STS Management, Information Security Risk Management, SAMS Business Audit and Compliance, Internal Audit, and Operational Risk Management to offer support and assistance in risk and control-related matters to ensure an open, adequate and effective risk management cultureEducate SAMS Technology team members on good practice and processes for Technology Risk GovernanceLead the development and documentation of achievable and sustainable action plans to remediate identified control weaknesses on behalf of the SAMS Technology organization Lead the development and documentation for remediation of issues and findings on behalf of SAMS TechnologyReport on status of remediation activities from development through implementation and sustainability testing to SAMS Technology Leadership and beyondMaintain the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) for SAMS Technology, coordinating with the BRIC, Information Technology Risk Management (ITRM), Operational Risk Management (ORM), the Operational Risk Working Group (ORWG), and other second level oversight groups and committeesProactively identify controls requiring attention or strengthening; create Self-Identified Issues, and work collaboratively with other STS disciplines to implement improvements in line with corporate standards, applicable regulations, and/or best practice frameworksSupport SAMS Technology with risk identification, mitigation, response, acceptance, and overseeing and challenging the design, implementation, and maintenance of SAMS Technologys processes and controlsFacilitate and manage required activities assigned by Corporate Risk, Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Technology Risk and Business Continuity & Incident ManagementLead concurrent risk and control management projects, driving execution of those programs to facilitate the identification, assessment, escalation, and mitigation of risk to ensure the continuous evaluation and improvement of the risk and control environmentCoordinate with Schwabs second line of defense (2LOD) organizations on the execution and maintenance of firm wide assessments and continuous monitoring controlsParticipate as a member of the STS Operational Risk Working Group (ORWG) What you have: Required minimum qualifications include:6+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry or highly regulated industry; strong, in-depth experience with complex, enterprise-wide IT platform operationsDemonstrated knowledge and experience with IT risk management and use of control frameworksIssue management experience (validation, mapping to controls, remediation planning, tracking and reporting)Experience coordinating internal, external and regulatory audit examinationsExperience developing, maintaining and overseeing execution against industry risk and control management frameworks (ISO, ITIL, COBIT, BASIL, NIST for example)Experience interfacing with various partners, including executive leadership, vendors, offshore resources, and internal groups with varying degrees of risk management and control frameworks knowledgeAbility to effectively handle multiple, competing, high-priority projects with varying deadlines Experience synthesizing metrics and developing management reportingStrong skills in oral and written communication to varying levels of managementProven ability to build strong partnerships across business and technology teamsStrong interpersonal, analytical, influencing, conflict resolution, and prioritization skillsHighly organized and able to manage many tasks at onceAble to work independently, seeking guidance at appropriate timesStrong skills in MS Office SuiteExperience with Archer eGRC, IBM OpenPages, MyGRC, Atlassian and IBM Team Foundation Server tools preferred
