Job Description:
Develop projects and programs that promote energy efficiency
through utility incentive programs, with a focus on energy efficiency
analysis for data centers and commercial facilities. Address and assess
the retrofit and/or the replacement of a wide range of systems
within data centers, industrial facilities, and commercial buildings
including but not limited to: chiller system optimization, chilled water
absorption systems, water-side economizer, outside air economizer, hot
water systems, heat recovery, compressed air, IT loads, uninterrupted
power supply, and controls. Coordinate and manage all aspects of the
projects through budget development and management, project reviews and
delivery schedule; serve as main point of contact between customer and
utility project managers; provide project support, technical
engineering analysis, field work, audits and inspections, research, and
report writing. Work with manager to develop scopes of work and
budgets; review calculations and assumptions used to estimate or measure
savings due to energy efficiency and green building projects; perform
and review facility audits, feasibility studies and reports, related to
both program implementation and turnkey projects; conduct site visits
to verify installation and operation of baseline and replacement
energy using equipment. Will communicate with contractors and
program administrators regarding program requirements; utilize energy
modeling applications and other simulation techniques to predict benefits
from energy efficiency and green building projects; write reports
that describe building systems, findings, and basis of savings;
assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures
for energy and green building programs. Travel up to 25% of time,
primarily around California, but nationwide as needed. Requirements: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Energy Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus 1 year of experience performing technical
reviews for energy efficiency projects, energy auditing, and data
measurements and verification. Also requires: Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification; demonstrated expertise performing data center
and commercial building energy audits; demonstrated expertise
utilizing knowledge of data center and building systems to evaluate
energy efficiency technologies; demonstrated expertise performing data
logger installations and executing measurements and verification plans
based on IPMVP protocol; and, demonstrated expertise performing energy
