Job Description:
Project Leader (Biopharma) -- The Boston Consulting Group - San
Francisco, California: Manage the design and implementation of long-term
business strategies to achieve superior profitability, growth and
enhancement of organizational capability for clients in the biopharmaceutical
and healthcare sectors. Oversee business development, client
relationships, project planning and management. Ascertain and define client
need or problem areas within the biopharmaceutical and healthcare
industries; manage all case team responsibilities including personnel
assignments, research and analysis, and reports to clients; undertake
critical evaluation of analytical work performed using advanced economic
and financial analysis techniques; oversee and direct consultants
and junior professional staff; oversee preparation of outputs and present
findings to senior client management. Domestic/international travel required
based on company/client need. Requires a Master’s degree in biology,
chemistry, pharmaceutical science, a related field in the natural sciences,
or a foreign degree equivalent plus four years of experience
performing business analysis, management consulting, or project management within
the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry. In lieu of Master’s
degree and four years of experience as listed above, will accept a Ph.D.
degree in biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical science, a related field in
the natural sciences, or a foreign degree equivalent, plus two years of
experience performing business analysis, management consulting, or project
management within the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Also
requires demonstrated ability to (i) apply scientific background to
research biopharmaceutical and healthcare industry, understand scientific
and technical literature, analyze market trends, evaluate
biopharmaceutical products and technology, and assess competitive advantage; (ii)
apply advanced economic and financial analysis theories such as
competitive cost and decision analysis, capabilities assessment, and experience
and scale curve analysis; (iii) conduct advanced analysis of scale
economies, seasonal effects on financial forecasts, impact of uncertainties
on business outcomes, and evaluation of factors that influence a
company's debt capacity; and (iv) manage individuals, teams and process.
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00 a.m. to
