Job Description:

Duties:

Will maintain Storage Area Network (SAN) hardware, identify issues, and

resolve production problems. Will design and implement a high-quality

production environment. Will troubleshoot performance issues with storage

network and storage operating systems. Will investigate and support

application functionality. Will leverage standard monitoring tools to

automate system monitoring software. Will recommend and implement SAN

hardware upgrades. Will assist with the administration of Windows servers.

Will implement best practices to ensure an effective preventive maintenance

program suitable to meet the operation objective of "99.9% availability,"

as well as backup of data according to internal policies. Will monitor and

optimize storage arrays and backup systems. Will participate in internal

meetings and assist with the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of

equipment, services, and vendors. Will maintain and update documentation of

storage and backup environment. Will support Esurance datacenters to ensure

proper deployment of server architecture. Will participate in on-call

support to ensure response to all system problems on a round-the-clock

basis.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign education) in Computer Science,

Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field plus 5

years of experience with server administration, including SAN support,

server build and troubleshooting.

OR, in the alternative:

Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign education) in Computer Science,

Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field plus 3

years of experience with server administration, including SAN support,

server build and troubleshooting.

Special Requirements:

1. Demonstrated expertise architecting, installing, configuring, and

maintaining SAN technology.

2. Demonstrated expertise developing policies, procedures, and standards

for Network Attached Storage (“NAS”) to streamline access to digitally

stored data.

3. Demonstrated expertise configuring and installing software in Windows

200x Operating System environments.

4. Demonstrated expertise providing helpdesk support to users of Open

Source Operating Systems and OpenStack Platforms, including Unix or Red Hat

Enterprise Linux.
